This is a must do in Venice for anyone traveling with kids and teens. Our group ranged in age from 12 to 47 and everyone had a fun time. Alex was amazing. So warm and friendly, we felt like she was hosting us in her own home! We had 4 teenage boys in our group and she engaged with them, encouraged them to be creative with their pasta shapes and genuinely made them laugh. The food was plentiful too (we did the lunch class!) We also enjoyed getting to know the other people signed up for the class from all over the world.
Great experience. I would highly recommend while traveling to Venice. Chef was very engaging and knowledgeable.
Nina was a wonderful teacher and we had a great time learning to make pasta and having fun at the same time. She forgot a step and we had to remake our dough but nonetheless we didn’t mind it and we had enjoyed our time!
Alex was such a charming and fun instructor. The pasta was truky delicious and we loved the vino and gelato too. Perfecto!
We met at the meeting place, and we had to walk several blocks to the place where we were going to cook the pasta. We had to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the area where we were going to prepare the pasta dough. There is no seating for when you prepare the dough. My husband has knee issues and cannot stand for long periods of time, so a chair was brought in for him to so he could do prep while sitting down. Dario, our guest chef, was very good about going from person to person to check on the status of the pasta dough and helping to roll it out or fix holes. He was very personable and energetic. We prepared 3 types of pastas: 2 raviolis and 1 fettuccine. Based on the plates, the raviolis were the clear winner. Although we prepared everything individually, the pastas were combined to be cooked and were served by Dario. The description said there would be wine. We assumed that meant wine would be served throughout our experience. That was not the case. We got served wine only when we were eating the pasta, and it was not flowing freely. The same goes for water: we had to request additional water, which was served in a carafe. Nothing is served with the pasta, meaning no salad, vegetables, etc.. The gelato was prepared in a machine. Dario explained the process, then he let it go or about 1 hour. When we finished eating the pastas, he served us the gelato and provided us with some syrups and cocoa powder to enhance the gelato. At the end of the experience we were given QR codes to download the recipes and to provide feedback.
Nina was very friendly and it was a great class! We made fettuccini noodles and 3 types of ravioli. The meeting spot was easy to find as well!
Very skimpy on the wine. They oversold the group. I sat on an uncomfortable chair on the corner of a table. The host made it sound like she would bring out extra wine to make up for it. There were five adult/bottle. When we asked for another she said she couldn’t. We could buy it. The class was already the most expensive in the area. The second bottle came at dinner almost two hours later. My two glasses hardly equaled one normal glass of wine. The food was so so, I did learn a few things.
Riccardo was wonderful! Walked us through the experience from beginning to end. Worth every penny!
Thank you to Alex who made us feel like we coming to her home for a family dinner. She was very friendly, social and guided us step by step making delicious fettuccine , ravioli and gelato. The perfect way to end our Italian Holiday..
A great class! All three of my adult sons loved it! Very organized. Had the best time at this class! 1000/10 recommend!
