The tour was a great mixture of history ( the Uxmal site), a delicious lunch in a tiny place we would never have found on our own and then a swim in two glorious cenotes. The guide Jorge was informative, funny, passionate about the subjects and generally charming.
long ride, but the Hacienda is truly fascinating, and the cenote is just beautiful. One of the prettier ones, I think. In fact, the entire property is just lovely. We had great guides all along the visit. So happy they are restoring the Hacienda. We also had a GREAT lunch at El Rinconcito in Albala. Lovely ladies prepared everything fresh and it was just lovely.
Our guide/driver for Uxmal, Jorge, was patient, informative, and genuinely wanted everyone in our group to have an excellent experience. His tour of Uxmal was 10/10. Our group had a tasty lunch at El Rinconcito nearby, and proceeded to Hacienda Mucuyche to join other groups on their guided tour. As other reviewers noted, this part of the tour was very crowded, but for me, the second cenote was worth it. I would have liked to have learned a bit more about the history of the hacienda other than its past as a henequen plantation.
I have to say that I was almost more enthusiastic about Uxmal than Chichen Itza, among others through tour guide Jorge. He was the best guide I've ever experienced in Mexico! The tour was not only very infomative, but also exciting & rousing... just perfect! Also tour guide Eric was very good, friendly & professional, moreover with good music taste. The guided tour of the Hacienda with its two beautiful cenotes (closed & semi-open, connected by a canal) took place by a Hacienda employee. A smaller group size would have been nicer here, as it got quite crowded with over 20 people, especially in the cenotes. It was definitely a very nice day tour that I will remember for a long time!
Incredible. Jorge was one of the most knowledgeable guides I’ve ever had on any tour and his passion for Mayan culture and the natural world shines through. Don’t miss out!
It was a great day from start to finish. The tour felt very exclusive and personal. Although it is not actually offered like this, we were picked up in the morning, and the group was very small – only four people. Our guide and driver, Eric, was extremely friendly and very competent. He himself took us through the archaeological site and gave us detailed explanations of the hacienda as well as the history of the cenotes and the henequén in Yucatán. It was really a very informative day. The places we visited are simply impressive. I didn’t know Uxmal was so majestic – I was deeply impressed. The cenotes on the grounds of the Hacienda were also incredible. I'd never seen anything like it before. In addition, Eric organized lunch for us in a traditional kitchen. The food was delicious and also very cheap. Thanks for everything. I highly recommend this experience.
