Tropical Fruit Hunting Tour at Grimal Grove

This review is long overdue, as we had the pleasure of taking this incredible tour a couple of months ago. From the moment the gate opened and we were warmly welcomed, until our departure several hours later, we were completely captivated. The tour exceeded our expectations in every way—not only because of the depth of knowledge shared with us, but also because of the genuine love, respect, and care shown for the land. That passion made the experience feel especially meaningful. And, of course, the perfect finishing touch was what we have affectionately dubbed the “charfruiterie” board—such a delicious and memorable way to end an already wonderful experience! Thank you for sharing this special place with us. We would happily take this tour again and again and cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a Treat! Jenn was our host and walked us through the grove explaining the various exotic trees and the history of each. Then treated us to samples of all the fruit at the end of the tour. The experience is something I found pleasantly unlike any other excursion in the Florida Keys. A fruit tree grove in the Keys?? Just an absolutely great experience. We will definitely be back

Fun and educational. No actually fruit picking but we got to try many different varieties of fruit grown in the orchard.

We tucked this place into our memory after watching Gordon Ramsay explore it. We were in the Keys, and knew this was a place we didn't want to miss. Loved learning about how this land was started, the unique fruits, and getting a chance to taste some things my taste buds have never tasted. Such a welcoming environment and a great tour guide as well. Worth the trip.

I learned so many interesting things about fruits, the grounds are beautiful and our tour guide so knowledgeable. After the tour, we were able to sample at least 12 fruits, pickles and jam.

The guide was very informative and we really enjoyed being able to do and see something unique in Florida

This tropical fruit park and botanical garden is renowned as the first breadfruit grove in the continental US. It houses over 150 types of rare, exotic fruit trees. Our guide Eric described each of the trees and picked fruit directly off the trees for us to see and taste. He also gave us a wonderful history of Adolf Grimal, the original founder of the grove, about his passion for tropical fruit and how he brought all of these trees to this area. After the tour, we had a delightful tasting session featuring many of these exotic fruits. We learned they are also making other fruit products like breadfruit vodka and ice cream too.

Unique and educational tour. Got to try fruits I’ve never heard of. Jen was a great tour guide! I would recommend it!

It was a very interesting tour and we were able to see and taste many tropical fruits from around the world. The history behind this place is very interesting as well. Our kids enjoyed the tour as well and especially enjoyed the "velcro" leaves from the breadfruit.
