Traditional Oaxaqueña Cooking with Grandma's Recipes

Description
We welcome you into our home with open arms! Immediately, you will feel part of our family and our traditions. We begin our welcome, the same way my abuela did with me, with hot chocolate and pan. I love to share my stories and traditions of my culture with you. Classes can be in spanish or english. Our class will take place in our beautiful outdoor kitchen, located on our terrace. You will learn to prepare food and cook in a traditional Oaxaqueña kitchen, called a brasero - a traditional brick stove, with open fire. We will get busy in a hands-on cooking experience where you will learn to prepare appetizers, traditional drinks, salsas and main dishes. In the culmination of our hard work, we will share in a group meal around the table with food, drink, stories, laughter, love and of course, mezcal. We look forward to connecting with you over food and flavor; one of my cultures oldest traditions.

One of the highlights our trip. From beginning to end chef and her family fantastic. I highly recommend take this class, you will not regret for one minute and you will enjoy delicious food in the process of the experience.
This was incredibly fun, educational, and delicious!! We did a 3 hour cooking class that was inclusively designed for families (we brought our 10 year old) and it wove in humor, storytelling, and great music alongside technical skills and ancestral wisdom. We learned about the regionally specific cooking techniques and ingredients as we went. And the snacks and drinks provided along the way and being able to savor what we made at the end was the perfect ending. Highly recommend!
Our private cooking class with Adhey and Enrique was wonderful! This husband-and-wife team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The laughter, fun, and delicious dishes we prepared together created an unforgettable experience. It was both educational and authentic, and we left with full hearts and full stomachs. Highly recommended!
A really nice experience all round, chef adhey helped us feel at home and totally comfortable learning some of her craft in an extension of her home with family there. Nice little touches and tips from her and Enrique her husband
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Enrique came to pick us up at the hotel and then took us back, everything perfectly organized. The cooking class with chef Adhey was incredible, they are super friendly and make you feel at home from the very first moment. Not only did we learn to cook, but they shared stories with us about their family, their culture, and their traditions. Truly, you feel like they are opening the doors of their home to you. An authentic, intimate, and very special experience. 100% recommended!
The best experience you can have in Mexico, authentic traditional cuisine and with a lovely family!!!
Fantastic experience! Feeled us like a big family around the oven. Learned to make several traditional dishes, which guaranteed must be recreated when we get home! Will gladly come back here! Adhey and Enrique are incredibly hospitable and photo.
Wondeful experience, highly recommended. Adhey and Enrique welcomed us into their home and made us feel as part of their family. We got to make savoury traditional Oaxacan food.
What a wonderful experience. Adhey and Enrique make you feel t home from the moment you step into their beautiful kitchen. They truly make you feel like family. We learned much so much about the history of Oaxaca’s gastronomy. We ate, laughed and even danced. Everything was delicious and recipes were easy to follow. I highly recommend this class. We’ve done many cooking classes and I have to say this is the first one where we felt that we were cooking as a family bc this is the way adhey and her husband make you feel.
Chef Adhey and her husband welcomed me and another family into their home, and from the moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t just a cooking class — it was an invitation into their world. Chef Adhey taught us like she would teach her own family, sharing her stories, her traditions, and the recipes passed down through generations. It reminded me so much of being in my grandmother’s kitchen — warm, comforting, full of love. We cooked, tasted, drank mezcal, laughed, and ate until we couldn’t eat anymore. I left feeling full, not just from the food, but from the connection, the culture, and the generosity she and her husband poured into every moment. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and would recommend it with my whole heart.
