Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains. King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city. Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.
The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II
The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I and his son Felipe II of Spain in the 1540s.
The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church in Toledo, Spain. It is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca is a museum and former synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Erected in 1180, according to an inscription on a beam, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing. It is now owned and preserved by the Catholic Church
The Iglesia de Santo Tomé is a church located in the historical center of the city of Toledo, and was founded after the reconquest of this city by King Alfonso VI of León. It appears quoted in the 12th century, as constructed on the site of an old mosque of the 11th century

Interesting tour of the art and architecture of beautiful historic Toledo, well-explained by a cheerful guide. But the audio system was painfully loud, and distorted to unintelligiblity, even when set to minimum volume. The guide was speaking in both English and Spanish on this tour, and I understand both languages, so it gave me two opportunities to understand each narration, but the audio system's distortion still made understanding extremely difficult. I mentioned the audio problem to the guide, and she gave me another pair of headphones, but they were no better. It's a shame that the work of such a good, cheerful, and knowledgeable guide was marred by poorly set-up audio equipment.

The guide was beyond caring and nice
A perfect choice if you want to learn about a place or a landmark without having to orient yourself in a new location while reading out of a guide book. The best part for me was when the guide,Arantxa, described art. She was very knowledgeable and what is more important, enthusiastic and personable.
The tour was well-paced. The weather is of course very hot in August. We spent a lot of time walking around the city and admiring its magnificent architectures. There were a few breaks during the tour. Which made the trip more manageable. Highly recommend this tour.
