Matcha shot

It was a valuable experience to be able to drink authentic matcha that I don’t usually get the chance to try. I especially enjoyed the matcha shot — it was exceptionally delicious.

Learning more about Japanese culture.

I had such a lovely time. I learned so many things and could enjoy an amazing cup for Japanese green tea. I loved creating my own sweets too.

Simple morning with simple tea and sweet making

Joe was a kind guide throughout the process but since it was a solo not group experience, it was less engaging and interactive than I hoped. Learned how to make matcha tea and a white bean sweet, all while dressed up in a kimono over my street clothes (extra warm). Would have liked to learn more about the symbolism and meaning behind the tea ceremony procedures and steps but limited English seems to have gotten in the way.

Candy and tea time

We made tea with Joe and candy, we had a great time, the warmest of the tea and room provided a much needed reprieve from Tokyo winter

Operator response

Thank you for the sweet comment. The candy three of you made were creative and interesting. We hope to welcome you back again for more activities someday. BUB Activity Center Asakusa

Totally give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. So much fun.

If you want to learn about Japanese tea ceremony this is the perfect place. You get a small educational lesson before getting started. You make a yummy sweet treat, then learn about making the tea. I would do this again. The staff was amazing with explaining things and so patient with us.
