This was a tour with only one attendee (me) so I was happy to have a de facto private tour. Fabio was a very entertaining and informative guide and took me to good places to try Albanian food. We had a good chat and I felt with Fabio I got to experience Tirana better than I could have done so myself.

Itinerary
Get ready to explore the heart of Tirana in a truly unique way. Make sure to save some appetite, the city has plenty of flavors waiting for you! Join your friendly guide on a flavorful adventure through the city’s lively streets, hidden corners, and bustling markets. We will begin at a cozy local spot to taste Byrek, a beloved Albanian pastry filled with cheese, spinach, or meat.
Next, we will wander through the colorful Çam Bazaar, where you can bargain for everything from souvenirs to kitchen gadgets, just like the locals do. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to everyday life in Tirana as we stroll through charming alleyways, with opportunities to sample fresh fruits, seasonal treats, and other local flavors
Our journey continues through Tirana’s vibrant neighborhoods to the unusual Bicycle Bazaar, famous for its second-hand treasures and unique finds. Then we will visit the New Bazaar, a lively market area unlike the outdoor sellers we have seen so far. Here, fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses and other regional specialties are beautifully arranged in colorful stalls, offering a more organized and immersive market experience. We will round off our day with a hearty traditional Albanian meal, followed by a sweet local dessert.
To top it all off we will have a taste of Grape Raki, the signature Albanian spirit that locals claim “warms the heart and sparks a smile.” Gezuar!

Markel was our guide and he was very pleasant. He explained the route and what to expect and gave us a great overview of the city and the country. The length of the experience was just right and we were offered many local foods including byrek, fruit, cheese, and a lovely meal in a restaurant, ending back near the meeting point to sample raki.
Fabio was a fantastic guide through Tirana, providing information on local dishes we ate as well as insight into the history of the city, and Albania more generally. We had a great time, would recommend!
Great food tour! We enjoyed tasting local and delicious foods while learning about Albanian history and culture. Visiting local shops and the bazaar made the experience feel authentic. Our guide, Markel, was knowledgeable and kind.
Really good tour, the food was lovely and plentiful. My guide was very good. He made the tour interesting.
We had a wonderful food and walking tour of Tirana with Florian today; the meeting instructions were clear and the hosts super friendly; we started with spinach and cheese, veal and tomato and onion byrek for breakfast. Amazingly tasty. Then a meander through the old bazaar full of clothing, but unlike many bazaars it was calm and quiet, and we weren’t pestered. Then onto the fruit market where we enjoyed fresh fruit including cherries, nectarines and apricots, followed by walnuts, cheese and olives. Then onto a restaurant at the new bazaar and had a hot food meze, then macaroon-style cookies on the move. Culminating in a sit down at a Raki bar by the Pyramid with traditional Raki in a very unique setting. Recommend this tour, and Florian, in a heartbeat. You won’t regret it. It’s a fantastic way to see the city and experience Albanian food and drink.
Great mix of food tasting and local/historical info. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. A perfect introduction to the city.
Great experience trying lots of the local food and the tour guides were friendly and helpful too
Not only did we learn about and enjoy Albanian food, we learned a lot about the history of Albania as well.
Great tour with Angelo We learnt about the city and had a taste of different traditional Albania snacks, fruits/nuts, a hot meal and raki in a bar with lots of ambience.. I will recommend 👌🏾 this tour if you do visit Tirana Thanks Angelo
