1) too long, 13 hrs driving with only 4 hrs exploring 2) the tour guide, Ricardo was very rude, unprofessional. We were only late by 3 mins. He humiliated announcing publicly telling everyone that this couple is late. How rude and embarrassing?? He threatened that if this happens in Porto. He would leave us.
Ricardo was our tour and it was great to visit the 3 cities with him.
The tour was great. Needed more time in each city to really enjoy it more. Lots of amazing things to see and do. Our tour guide RICARDO, was very nice, gave us some great recommendations of places to rat. Excellent customer service, an amazing tour guide!. Would definitely recommend.
We definitely started off on the wrong foot with tour guide at the second stop. I felt humiliated for being only 3–4 minutes late, despite genuinely trying to get back on time. The delay happened because the restroom at the café recommended by the guide would not allow me to use it promptly, even after I had purchased something and explained that I needed to be back on the bus at the given time. I had also explained my health situation and recent cancer treatment to the guide. Despite this, he called my husband twice within two minutes in a very rude tone. When my husband explained that we were coming and that I was trying to use the restroom, the guide told us that in Porto he would leave if we were late. Given that we were only a few minutes behind, I felt there was a lack of basic empathy and kindness. I eventually spoke with him directly and asked for some understanding. He explained that he had called because he was concerned, but his tone and comments did not come across that way. To his credit, he was better after that conversation, and we had a much better experience for the rest of the trip. However, this episode shook me enough, especially with everything I had already been going through. It took me a good 2–3 hours to get back to enjoying the trip. I hope this feedback helps him understand that a little patience, empathy, and kindness can make a significant difference in situations like this.
