Great! Definitely a "must-do" in Cape Town! All the staff were kind and helpful, and our "tour guide" really knew her stuff! Shioban will help you discover what kind of chocolate is your favorite and why! Love milk chocolate but can't do dairy? Need less sugar but still love chocolate? No problem. They really know how to bring out the best flavors, so we encourage you to let them share their story behind the chocolate with you!
Great experience. Well we all love chocolate but we never really understood how it is made and what the percentages mean. A very interesting presentation for about 40 minutes including tasting of the different chocolates including curry flavour. The chocolatier made us up a bag of mixed percentages to take away and also provided us with a printed copy of tasting notes. Visited as part of the Cape town attractions package.
Sorry but this was not as expected. Stood in one spot, tasted 5 chocolate drops, listened to a talk. No viewing of how anything is made, was fairly boring.
This is an explanation and chocolate tasting. It is very rushed - I wouldn’t recommend it. The staff are nice though.
One of the activities on our city sightseeing bus ticket. A bit out of the way to find, however the staff were nice. We did taste test and learnt some things about making chocolate. They were very accomodating as we got there late but they still did the taste testing tour for us. Recommend going to support local business. All chocolate is made with beans from Tanzania.
This was a great experience to taste the making of chocolate through all its processes until it becomes a bar :-)
When we walked in we breathed deeply yes we had just come from a sound bath meditation but this was different. Our olfactory senses were stimulated and we couldn’t wait to eat some chocolate. And so the tour started with the cacao where it comes from and then the percentages of cocoa and the ingredients. We were really enjoying the heartening story about chocolate making and how our own chocolatier had starter as a cleaner in the organisation and had grown in her role to this point of being able to engage with guests from all over the world. We throughly enjoyed and did some beautifully packaged purchases for friends.
Excellent experience, the staff was so friendly and explained the entire process of making chocolate. They make a lot of different chocolates in the store, so we got to see it first hand how it works. And the best was that we also got to taste some delicious chocolate.
