I did the tour to see whales and dolphins with my wife on 08-04-2026, and it was a disappointment. The weather was really bad, with high waves and a lot of wind, and there were no safe or comfortable conditions for the passengers. Most of the passengers felt sick, and some even vomited. The boat bounces really high with the waves. I know it’s normal to get a little wet because I’ve done several similar tours in other countries, but this time we got completely soaked. We saw a few dolphins, but it seemed to me that this company only cares about money and little else, since care for passengers, comfort, and safety is very, very minimal. I don’t recommend this company.
Today we went on the whale and dolphin spotting tour. After a short but clear briefing we were boarding our boat. We certainly enjoyed our trip to the area where the skipper and guide expected to see either whale or dolphins, being guided by the land based spotter. Our guide took time to inform everybody what was going on. When we saw the first pod of spotted dolphins she told us we were sailing on to the area where the whales were. The skipper used his hydrophone to change course a couple of times and than we saw it, our first spermwhale. In total we saw three whales, two large pods of Spotted dolphins and a pod of Risso dolphins. All in all nearly three well spent hours
The biologist Carolina is the skipper who led us were very competent and friendly with very complete explanations about the animals
The skipper was very professional. The marine biologist was kind extremely repetitive. We did not see much in the way of wildlife. We did see a humpback out of season. I would advise going during spring. A lot cooler and more likely to see the big baleen cetaceans. Would also advise to bring your own water as the total time on water is about 3 hrs and it can get hot.
Fantastic experience. They respect animals. We saw a sperm whale with its calf and made sure not to disturb them for too long. Dolphins, sperm whales, and a whale!! What luck!
We recently visited the Azores and went whale watching with this company. The guides were excellent and communicated in both Portuguese and English. My husband has back problems and they took special care to position him in the boat to be most comfortable. The wind was calm and the trip was extremely comfortable all around. We were fortunate enough to see 6 different species of whales and dolphins. 3 species of whales including the largest, the blue whale. And 3 different types of dolphins. It was a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend this company! Also we did this the first week of May and got lucky enough to see the blue whale passing through.
The instructions to get to the meeting point were not clear . parking in the area is not easy at all. The meeting time was 8:30 Un fortunately the tour was late 30 min because they waited on 3 people that were late ! As soon as you left the sheltered Marina we got into hi sea and hi wind that made this boat tour one of the most horrible boat rides we had . Of course in this kind of conditions the chance of finding whales is zero , and that’s what we got - no whales. Right before we went back they went to some shallow water close to the shore and managed to find some dolphins . We were very disappointed . They didn’t even offer to get us our money back. Avoid this trip in any bad weather conditions.
Very nice experience; lots of animals seen. Nice guide but few explanations in my opinion on marine biology...
We saw dolphins and whales in numbers and on seven occasions. The staff is concerned about our well-being on the boat. I recommend, it is an unforgettable memory
Not worth the price if you watt to go take either binoculaire or zoom lens. Also try to avoid the white boat. Bigger. So it has to stay more far from then Whales.. really to expensif for the experience.
