Open late, loved by locals, and woven into everyday life, these iconic stands are more than just a place to grab a bite, they’re a true Viennese institution. Tasting a classic sausage here is therefore a must-try experience on any trip to Vienna, offering an authentic flavor of the city’s traditions and daily rhythms.
Enjoy the cozy atmosphere of a traditional Austrian tavern while tasting two of its most iconic dishes. Savor the perfectly breaded Wiener Schnitzel, golden and crisp, alongside a hearty bowl of Goulash, a spicy Eastern European soup rich in flavor and tradition. We will end our tour on a sweet note with one of the most famous dishes of the rich Austrian dessert tradition: Kaiserschmarrn. This dessert looks like a “scrambled” light pancake, and it has a noble history! For the dinner tour, the Kaiserchmarrn may not always be available, but in that case you will have ample choice between all the delicious typical cakes.

We had a fantastic 3-hour food tour in Vienna with Mario. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and informative, and really brought the history and culture of Vienna to life throughout the tour. The food stops were excellent, with a great variety of places and dishes, and everything we tried was delicious. It felt like a really good balance between learning about Vienna and getting to experience some fantastic local food. The tour was really well worth the money, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna. Mario was a brilliant guide and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.

Our guide Mario did an exceptional job providing four different Viennese/Austrian food experiences across Vienna on our food tour this morning, from breads to traditional meals to sweets. He also shared his vast knowledge of the rich history of Vienna and Austria in thoughtful, informed and personal ways, keeping our group of 6 engaged throughout. I contacted the company in advance to ask if they could accommodate a vegetarian diet, and if we could bring our dog, both of which were answered positively. Besides my husband and myself there was just one other person, glad to see they did not cancel the tour because of that. Our guide Lauren has lived in Vienna/Austria for 25 years and clearly was very knowledgeable about the food and various places we went to. The food was delicious, abundant, and I got decent vegetarian options.
The food was good and the guide informative but it was overpriced. Would be better if you bisited more locations and atw less at each.
