Next, we make a short scenic stop at Cap Spartel, the northernmost point of Africa, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean. The Camel ride takes a place next to the Hercules Caves & Cap Spartel where you will find your Camel ready to take you on a ride by shore offering incredible views and memorable photo opportunities. After the ride you will have the opportunity to taste Moroccan Food with Locals at an old historical restaurant! The tour concludes with a walk through the ancient Medina and Kasbah, with time for shopping and exploring before flexible drop-off at your hotel, port or preferred location.

"Parc Perdicaris" photo/break stop, it is a historic park located in the outskirts of Tangier. The park is known for its beautiful gardens and scenic views, and it is named after Ion Perdicaris, an American diplomat who owned the property in the early 20th century. The park is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, providing a serene environment to relax and enjoy nature.
The tour includes a camel ride that takes place next to the Caves of Hercules (2500 BC) and Cap Spartel (the Head point of Africa). You will find your camel ready to take you on a ride along the shore during sunset. Additionally, a sunset photoshoot by the host awaits you at the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean!
The tour includes a visit to to Cap Spartel, where you can soak in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area and gain insights into the history and significance of the lighthouse. Furthermore, we will guide you to the Caves of Hercules!, allowing you to explore the intriguing caves and discover the legend of Hercules (one cave entry is included).
After our Camel Ride you will savor an authentic full-course traditional meal at a local Moroccan restaurant in the heart of Tangier Medina.
After the Break we’ll Discover major attractions along with hidden places only locals know… from historic synagogues and churches to traditional neighborhoods and authentic gathering spots. The experience ends with a 100% local walking tour inside the Medina and kasbah, where you’ll explore real Moroccan life and the unique blend of Arab, Berber and international influences in Tangier.

It was a lovely well-paced tour led by Hamza! My favourite part was going to the Hercules Cave. Dinner was also great — shrimp tagine, fried calamari… As a seafood lover, the dinner satisfied my cravings. As a solo traveller, this was definitely a nice activity.
Very well organized, good communication, great value. Best food and shop recommendations along with tourist destinations. We seen in 6 hours while in port from the cruise incredible amount of tangier.

The Viator excursion could have been more organized, especially regarding the pick-up location. It was very confusing trying to find the tour guide outside the port gate where we docked. It also felt a bit unusual that the tour guide left us several times for about 20 minutes to handle personal matters during the tour, especially since we were in unfamiliar areas. Thankfully, he always returned, but it did feel awkward, particularly when we had to call him to come back after we finished lunch. Aside from those concerns, the excursion itself was enjoyable — seeing the cave and riding camels along the beach were definite highlights. However, for peace of mind, I will likely book future excursions directly through the cruise line to ensure everything is clearly organized and taken care of.
Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the camel ride and Hercules Caves… they’re some of Tangier’s gems! Regarding the pickup, when cruise ships arrive with over 2,800 passengers! the local tourism delegation limits how many guides and vehicles can enter at once to keep things safe and organized. This can cause brief delays even for those booked directly with the ship. As for the moments I stepped aside, we always give guests space during meals so they can enjoy with family or friends. I was always nearby and ready to assist when needed as you kindly noted. I also truly appreciate your comments about the beautiful moments you had during the tour! Interestingly.. your sister, who joined the same tour left us a 5-star review and I’m grateful that you both chose to explore Tangier with us. I was skeptical when this tour began on foot, starting with 1/3 mile walk to meet our tour guide outside of the port area. However, I could not have known this would turn out to be one of the best excursions we took on our recent cruise. The walk through old town Tangier was the highlight for us! Hamza was very pleasant, patient and informative! He arranged a very comfortable ride in an air conditioned a for the rest of the tour. The camel ride on the beach was another highlight. We ended the tour with an authentic meal at a restaurant in old town. I would definitely recommend this tour, as long as you have comfortable walking shoes.

They seamlessly complement each other by having the vehicle collect and drop us off at the pre-arranged places while we walk a little and receive information at every stop in addition to keen insights into the contemporary society we are visiting. You are not just listening to history lessons; you are walking among people who live in today’s Tangier. The seaside camel ride and Cave of Hercules are standout moments of the tour. They were made even more memorable by the friendly yet professional way in which Hamza and Bensalem delivered it. Before you know it, three hours or so have passed and you are on your way to a tasty and authentic Moroccan dinner in the Casbah.
