The tour was amazing. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and provided awesome photos after our tour. Highly recommend!!!
Amazing, it exceeded our wildest expectations. We saw a pod of five or six orcas and we had a humpback whale swim around the boat for about 15 minutes. Our marine biologist guide Ines recognised the whale and was very well informed as was the captain, who turned off the engine whilst the whale was close.
We had already gone whale watching in Juneau so had not anticipated that this would be much rougher seas! However we were lucky enough to see two Humpback whales in separate locations along with seals and bald eagles. Boat was not so comfortable and you really did need to hold on - next time would book a larger vessel.
There should be a warning to customers about this trip, because anyone with a back issue should not book this trip. It was the most uncomfortable boat trip I have ever been on. The boat was very small and seemed overcrowded.
This trip was a highlight of our holiday. We were lucky enough to see orcas almost as soon as we set sail! Later we also saw a humpback whale, and the sea lions were impressive too. The crew were great - Natalie and Callum were passionate about the wildlife, and keen to share their knowledge and answer questions. Natalie took some great photos along the way, which she later shared. They were far better than our snaps. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend it. Our trip ended perfectly as we spotted a sea otter just after disembarking.
Amazing experience. Ryan, our guide, was very knowledgeable and allowed everyone to have an enjoyable and exciting experience. He answered all of our questions and allowed us to get a great view even with small children. It was great for the money and definitely something I would do again. The other guides were great too, we just spoke to Ryan the most. They were also photographers and gave you their pictures for free via email at the end of the tour. The don’t charge kids under 2 full price like all the other whale watching tours do. Very happy with this experience and highly recommend.
This was a very enjoyable experience! We happened to go on this tour later in the afternoon so in addition to getting to see a pod of orca's interacting with each other, we also go to view a beautiful sunset! The crew on the boat were so friendly and they answered every question and provided commentary about the whales and the area in general. One of the guides took a bunch of pictures and shared them with the passengers. At the end, I just couldn't help giving a deep sigh of satisfaction having experienced the wind in my face, the sight of the majestic orca's and the glorious sunset. It was a good feeing!
We decided to go well watching in Victoria, BC. The crew was very informative & inviting & funny. They tried very hard to let us see as many whales as we could. We were able to see just a few, but also other wildlife, such as stellar sea lions and harbor seals. Fortunately, we were able to see some, but the best part was that they also had a photographer, Callum on board that took pictures of what we saw and shared them!!! I compared mine to his, and his are far superior. My friends & I will forever have awesome memories. Jake was very interesting and has a nearly perfect whale 🐋 call! We appreciate his knowledge and humor. Our Captain navigated the boat perfectly so everyone could see. Thank you to such a great crew!!
Very fun and worth it! It’s 3 hours long, but the time went fast. It can get windy on deck- bring layers!
Book this trip NOW before it sells out! We saw a pod of Orca Killer Whales, seals, humpbacks, porpoises, so much more…all up close and we were able to fit this trip in a very brief stay in Victoria due to scheduling on our cruise ship. Orca Spirit Adventures is run like a well-honed machine… no worries about timing about getting back to your cruise. We took the covered vessel tour which we highly recommend but read this and remember. YOU WOULD DO BEST TO STAY ON TOP IN OPEN AIR! The ride out to sea and back is a bit bumpy at times but if you choose to stay low in the cabin, you’ll be prone to feeling the waves. If you stay up, it can be wet, but you won’t feel the sea as much and you’ll have better viewing. So, book this trip, bring warm layers and a waterproof bag, a poncho, binoculars and a camera. You won’t need the camera BTW as the naturalists take photos for you. A shout out to our entirely female crew … fantastic naturalists, master captaining, unbelievable photography. Just perfect and a trip we will never forget!
