Stockholm's Gamla Stan hides centuries of Viking and seafaring history behind its cobbled lanes, and the best way to taste it is with a local guide leading you street by street. This small-group walking tour weaves through Old Town's alleyways and courtyards for 7 tastings that trace Swedish food from its coastal roots to its sweetest finish. Start with golden-fried herring and knäckebröd, then try toast skagen, prawn toast piled with mayo, sour cream, dill and roe, alongside creamy potatoes with lingonberries and cucumber. Watch a candy shop craft artisanal peppermint sweets by hand, sample a classic Swedish cheese at a cosy local haunt, and finish with prinsesstårta, Sweden's iconic cloud-soft princess cake. Along the way you'll pass the Royal Palace and hear how Gamla Stan's colourful buildings have held their stories for hundreds of years. And somewhere in the mix, Secret Food Tours will slip you a Secret Dish we won't name until it's on your plate.

We meet our guests, take a look at the statue and have our first bites!
We walk around Stockholm Old Town and have two stops in this area: we visit some swedish candy makers and then go to our Secret Spot where we'll try our delicious Secret Dish and some more!
We'll walk the major pedestrian street and take some lovely bridges to reach the district of Norrmalm, very close to the central station.
We'll navigate Hotorget area and discover more dishes, while seeing gorgeous flowers and learning more about the transitioning since the Early Medieval Period to what's now happening in the vibrant Stockholm

The experience advertised 7 food samples (we got only 5) We received three food samples, then a tiny sample of fudge/candy (half a cm) at the sweet shop that were free to anyone who entered and surely weren’t counted as part of the tour tastings. Finished with a cinnamon bun that can be found in all cafes and a sample of cheese (3 cubes of 1cm diameter) and our guide couldn’t even tell us the names of the cheeses or what they were made of. Your guide had very little to say and it was left to the tour participants to make our own conversation. £100 each for the tour was very poor value. The tastings centred around a few streets in Gamla Stan. For a three hour experience I was expecting to cover various areas of Stockholm, especially the famous food hall - total rip off and would not recommend
