As the largest cathedral in Ireland and one of the most iconic landmarks in Dublin, a visit to St. Patrick’s is more than just sightseeing—it’s an immersion into centuries of religious tradition, architectural grandeur, and storytelling that leaves a lasting impression on every traveler. The architecture is a masterpiece of Gothic style, with intricate carvings, soaring arches, and elaborate woodwork. The stone walls are adorned with memorials, plaques, and tombs. One of the most popular attractions inside the cathedral is the tomb of Jonathan Swift, the author of Gulliver’s Travels and a major satirist of the 18th century. Swift served as Dean of St. Patrick’s from 1713 to 1745. Containing Historical and Cultural Riches that include the story of the Door of Reconciliation and much more.
The Book of Kells is one of Ireland’s greatest cultural treasures—a stunning illuminated manuscript created by Celtic monks around 800 AD. Housed in the Long Room of Trinity College Dublin, this masterpiece contains the four Gospels in Latin, richly decorated with intricate artwork, gold leaf, and vivid colors. Every page is a marvel of craftsmanship, blending Christian iconography with traditional Irish motifs like spirals, animals, and knots. The Book of Kells was likely made on the island of Iona and later moved to Kells for safekeeping. Today, visitors can view two open pages, rotated regularly, along with a fascinating exhibition on how it was made. After seeing the book, don’t miss the breathtaking Long Room, lined with ancient books and marble busts—it’s one of the most photographed places in Dublin. Whether you're into history, art, or religion, the Book of Kells is a must-see experience that offers a glimpse into the soul of medieval Ireland.
Trinity College Dublin, established in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I, is Ireland's oldest university, located on a historic 47-acre campus in the heart of Dublin. The campus features notable landmarks such as the Campanile bell tower and the Rubrics Building, the oldest surviving structure. The Old Library houses the Long Room, a 65-meter hall containing 200,000 of the library's oldest books, and the Book of Kells, a 9th-century illuminated manuscript renowned for its intricate artwork. Visitors can explore the campus through student-led tours and enjoy various exhibitions and cultural events. Trinity College continues to be a vibrant center for education and research, offering a unique blend of historical significance and academic excellence.

Tour operators extremely insensitive to transportation issues that prevented us from taking the tour.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Although you did not do our tour. We are genuinely sorry that unexpected traffic congestion prevented you from reaching the meeting point on time. We always wait 30 minutes for late delayed arrivals. Unfortunately, you did not contact us about this directly. Thus it was beyond both your control and ours it seems. Our tours must depart promptly at a certain time, as they involve timed-entry reservations and guides arranged in advance. Regrettably, this means we cannot delay the departure for other guests who have not arrived by the scheduled starting time. As your booking was made through Viator, they handle customer-support and running late queries will be subject to their terms and conditions agreed to when the booking was made. Many travel-insurance policies provide cover for unforeseen delays and other travel disruptions. We therefore encourage you to contact your insurer to determine whether you may be able to recover the cost of the missed tour. We sincerely regret that you were unable to join our award winning 5*tours and hope you will have another opportunity to visit in the future. If you decide to book directly with City Heritage Tours ourselves, please contact us and we will be delighted to assist you.
My grandpa and I took this tour today! Our guide was Noel Quinn and he was the best! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and kept us so interested the entire time. He also took photos for us, and of us throughout and emailed them to us after. We ended up being the only two on the tour today and got a really personal experience! Our guide, noel, even took us for a coffee & tea break and covered our bill. Very kind man. Would absolutely recommend this tour, especially with Noel as your guide!
Michael Kenny did an absolutely amazing job as our tour guide. He is so knowledgeable and have amazing stories for every question you have on the tour. If I could hire him to show me all the stops in Ireland I would! The Book of Kells was amazing, we did not get into Dublin Castle because it is closed as it is currently the seat of the EU presidency, St. Patrick’s Cathedral was the highlight of our tour. Truly amazing history here in Dublin!
