Our guide/driver Jeff, informative of the area, safe driver. St John's is beautiful and worth getting around and seeing beyond the city, including Cape Spears, most northern point. Recommend Jeff and the tour.
Our rating is based on our non-tour experience. We cannot rate the actual tour because we couldn't go due to a misunderstanding of the tour time. We had booked for 1 pm months ahead. Our time was changed to 2 pm via a phone call early on. Okay, at the time it was doable. However, after that, every correspondence we received had indicated a 12:45 meeting time with a tour for 1 pm including our ticket voucher received 2 days before the tour. Imagine our surprise when a Jellybean Tour van sped past us at 12:33. We called the company and was told that we were scheduled for 2 pm, not 1 pm even though all the recent correspondence said 1 pm. We had to be back before the 2 pm tour ended, so we had to cancel. They did promise us a full refund so we gave them a 3. Lesson learned and hopefully by telling you this situation, you'll also know to verify all of your tours with the provider before getting left on the curb. Note to Jellybean Tours: If you are going to change the time, change it throughout your entire system so the emails and ticket vouchers say the same thing.
Fabulous tour.. you get a good sampling of St John’s and vicinity. Great food recommendations provided. Highly recommend. I would do the tour at the beginning of or midway in your trip so you can go back to your favourite spots.
This was such a GREAT tour! Dave was a perfect tour guide—he was a wealth of local knowledge as well as local history. He was a perfect match for our family. He tailored our tour to meet our specific interests and it was spot on! He knows the area and how to make the most of our tour. The best thing about this tour is not only did it allow us to see the areas we wanted to see, but it gave us a “lay of the land” so we could then go out and explore on our own. It was a wonderful start to our stay in St John’s. Thank you, Dave!
The tour was excellent and our tour guide was very informative, well worth the time...great experience.
We had a great time on this tour! It took us to so many places in and around St. John’s (some very well known, like Signal Hill, Jellybean Row, Cape Spear). We also went to a little fishing village and just watched some guys clean fish for a bit. Very interesting stops on the tour, and our driver/guide Barry was a delight. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting St. John’s for the first time!
I had a delightful tour with guide Jeff at the wheel of a very up to date, modern vehicle. There were 3 others in the van the day of our tour so we had quick access to our guide when we had questions. I felt safe while we were travelling. We stopped or passed by all the places listed in the itinerary. Mother Nature determined the weather conditions and on the day of my excursion there was a bit of fog so visibility was less than ideal but saw plenty of views. It was a very enjoyable and informative tour. I booked only a few days ahead and was lucky that it wasn't a busy day (first Fri in August) I highly recommend it!
We had a great experience on this tour, and having such a small group made it feel much more personal. There were only three of us, so Jeff was able to take his time, answer our questions, and make the tour feel relaxed rather than rushed. We really enjoyed seeing the different spots around St. John’s, especially Cape Spear, Quidi Vidi, and the colourful Jellybean Row houses. Jeff was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, and he shared interesting stories about the area along the way. Coming from Ontario, it was a fantastic way to see some of the highlights of Newfoundland without having to worry about navigating everything ourselves. We got a nice mix of scenery, history, and local character. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting St. John’s, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Jeff and a small group.
Very good tour , our guy was so good think his name was Jeff , very in site full, wish the weather was better but no control over that
This was a great city tour! Our guide Barry was very knowledgeable, funny and really down-to-earth. He made it a great experience for everyone. We learned a lot about St. John's, and having a small tour group made it a little more personal. My husband and I really enjoyed it!
