Our adventure begins in Piazza Tasso, the beating heart of Sorrento. Here your local guide welcomes you with insights into the city’s history and food culture before the tastings begin.
Our first tasting is a light and delicious local treat in a historic pastry shop. This sweet treat works as a perfect palate cleanser and welcome to the flavors of Sorrento.
Sit back and relax at a traditional family-run dairy and salumeria, where you’ll sample fresh cheeses, local cured meats, and a glass of regional wine—an authentic highlight of the tour.
Time for one of Sorrento’s most beloved dishes: homemade gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Served in a cozy family osteria, this stop captures the warmth of local tradition.
Step inside a historic limoncello producer to taste their original recipe, crafted since 1884, along with unique variations such as limoncello cream and melon liqueur.
Discover a historic shop celebrating Sorrento’s famous lemons. Here you’ll sample traditional lemon biscuits and candies, made with the same citrus that gives limoncello its world-renowned flavor. A light, refreshing stop that captures the sweeter side of Sorrento.

PRIVATE FOOD TOUR WITH GIANNI: An absolute must if you're visiting Massa Lubrense/Sorrento! Gianni made this one of the best afternoons of my whole trip. He's warm, knowledgeable and genuinely connected to every person we met along the way. Every single place we visited was tucked off the main street, spots you'd likely never stumble on as a tourist, and each one was clearly a favorite among locals. It felt less like a tour and more like getting to tag along with a friend who happens to know everyone in town. THE TASTINGS: He walked us through an incredible spread of local flavors: 🥮 Baba 🥨 Tarallo 🧀 Provolone del Monaco DOP 🧈 Fior di Latte DOP 🥓 Neapolitan Salami 🥓 Capocollo 🍅 Sorrento Tomatoes 🥂 Fiano Avellino (white wine) 🥂 Falanghina Benevento (white wine) 🍷 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (red wine) 🍝 Gnocchi alla Sorrentina 🍸 Limoncello cream 🍸🍋 Limoncello 🍪🍬 Lemon candies & cookies 🧁 Lemon Delight ☕️ Neapolitan Espresso One standout: the gnocchi sorrentino style at Gnocchi Osteria di Famiglia, a true hidden gem, was incredible, easily one of the best bites of the whole tour. It's the kind of place you'd only ever find with a local expert like Gianni leading the way. Every single stop was thoughtfully chosen, and Gianni explained the history and story behind each bite and pour, which made it so much more special. I even brought home some fresh pasta from one of the shops and it was incredible. Beyond the tastings, Gianni was full of great recommendations for other restaurants for the rest of my stay. He also brought us to a beautiful little shop doing gorgeous inlaid woodwork, where I picked up a unique collectible piece that's being shipped home. That's the kind of personal touch that made this tour so memorable, he really goes above and beyond to share the place he loves. If you want an authentic, joyful, delicious introduction to the local culture, do this tour with Gianni. Five stars all around! I'd recommend booking this early on in your vacation plans so you can return or take advantage of the additional recommendations Gianni provides.

Local experience and authentic food. Appreciated that we didn’t eat pizza and gelato but delicious local food from the heart of Sorrento.
We had such a fantastic food tasting experience with Giovanni in Sorrento. From start to finish, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. Every tasting was delicious, and it was clear how passionate he is about local food and culture. We left with full stomachs and a much greater appreciation for Sorrento’s culinary heritage. Absolutely great food tour in Sorrento. We tried many different foods and wine. Great introduction to Sorrento, we even revisited one of the restaurants the next day ! Don't hesitate to book !
Our guide Loris was very personable. We enjoyed all of the experiences doing walk a about to various places to taste some of the traditional foods found in Sorrento. My personal favorite was the market where the cheese we were served was made that day!
Giovanni was out tour guide, and it was only me and my partner on the tour, he text us asking if we wanted to change due to this, showing that he cares. He took us around his and the locals best spots for a wide variety of food such as pastry, pasta, limoncello. wine and coffee. This guide made our holiday well worth the money. I would recommend for everyone to do this food tour and try to get giovanni due to him actually being a genuine person and being really helpful.
