The Smartphone Guided Indianapolis Downtown Sites Audio Walking Tour was a fun and convenient way to explore the city. The audio narration was clear, informative, and easy to follow, allowing me to discover the history behind Indianapolis' most iconic landmarks at my own pace. I appreciated the flexibility to stop, take photos, and continue whenever I wanted. The route covered many interesting sites, and the location-aware audio made the experience smooth and engaging. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking for an affordable and self-guided way to experience downtown Indianapolis.
So this was amazing and I did it with my 19year old nephew who loves history. We did the entire tour and then went back to the museum to take a long time to look around. It was to use and the GPS kept us on the correct path. I will try this in any other city it is offered ! Thanks
Great self guided tour. The only thing we had trouble locating was the moon tree. We found the tour very interesting and enjoyed the city of Indianapolis
Overall it was an informative walking tour. Who knew there were so many war memorials in downtown Indianapolis? It was a bit confusing at times as to what direction I was supposed to walk for the next stop.
I did the Indianapolis walking tour on Monday, 03/09/26. It was engaging and informative. I very much enjoyed it, thank you.
Good experience for solo travelers like me! Easy to follow and was concise and worth it. Exceeds my expectations
Since there are no guided walking tours in Indianapolis, this is about the only option. The route and sites pointed out on the tour were good. I just wish there had been a mechanism to tell me the hours of the buildings and museums that the guide was encouraging me to visit. For example, the war museum closes at 5:00. It seems a fantastic museum, but I should have done it first. Also, I would have enjoyed hearing general history about Indianapolis while I walked between stops.
Thank you for the note! Our tours are designed to be taken anytime, 24/7. That does mean sometimes buildings will be closed, and they have fluctuating schedules, great tip to check the times before setting off. Many of the stops on our tours are open standard hours, like 9 to 4-ish, but some are open different hours. Many of these sites are free so it's best to go then if possible. But, these tours are great to take when you want, so many do take the tours in the early morning or evenings when they are free :). On the WalknTours app you can see the stops and check with the site for it's opening hours. Sorry they were closed when you walked :). I'll put in a suggested time to explore to see all the sites and 'most likely' be able to enter :) Thank you! And thnks for using the WalknTours app Greg @ WalknTours
We were raised in Indianapolis and were back for a short weekend and had some time while downtown so bought this tour. LOVED IT. Great sites and navigation on the app. Took us a good 2 hrs and didn’t go in the sites. Loved tge go at your own pace part! Highly recommend!!
Do not use the walking directions provided on the audio tour. Preplan the directions using a map. Suggested buildings to view the interior were locked.
I really enjoyed this self-guided walking tour of Indianapolis! The app worked flawlessly—it was informative, easy to follow, and the directions from one stop to the next were perfectly on point. I loved that I could step into certain sites and then seamlessly pick up the tour where I left off. It made exploring the city both flexible and engaging. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or wanting to learn more about Indy at their own pace!
