GENERAL INFO TOUR - BOOK ELSEWHERE!!

This was a very mediocre tour. I’ve done plenty of guided tours before where you actually learn the history of the building, etc. This was general information given that I could have picked up anywhere — even by touring the Colosseum myself and it was only about 1 hr 20 minutes for $117 per person. Our tickets included other places, but once we were done with the Colosseum, our tour guide was done with us. I do not recommend this tour and wish I could get my money back. I was originally booked for an 11AM tour and then was called in the morning where they demanded I go to the 10AM tour. I said no and that I booked 11AM for a reason. They finally agreed to 11:30, but I’ve never had a company do that to me before. Never again will I book with them. Please consider other companies!!

Shocking experience, tour canceled 5 minutes before departure

The shocking experience We arrived a quarter of an hour before departure and met our guide who, after seeing our vouchers, looked at us perplexed and introduced us to a colleague of his. A few minutes later, an employee from Let's Enjoy Tours approached us, telling us that our visit had been canceled because they no longer collaborated with Get Your Guide and could not take our tickets. We were stunned and contacted Get Your Guide's support, which informed us that our tour had been canceled due to bad weather. It's a pity that in Rome the sky was clear and it was 29 degrees.

Fantastic tour with Benjie!

Benjie was an incredible guide! He packed the tour with fascinating history of all the spots we visited, sharing it all with a great sense of humor and a truly caring attitude. He was also fantastic about giving us plenty of time to take photos. Thank you, the future great director!

Not a great tour of the coliseum

Tour was rushed. Guide spent more time making off colored jokes then he did telling us the history of the area. He did get us through lines quickly therefore 2 stars. He used the word F**k more than a handful of times. We did a tour of many areas in our trip to Italy. This was our only bad tour

Great experience

Great communication. Easy to find guide. Guide was very informative and entertaining. It’s a walking tour on uneven surfaces so be prepared with good shoes.

Expensive, not great

We booked this tour last minute because we missed a tour booked earlier in the day. We paid $450 for the tour and definitely did not get that level of service out of it. The guide was not very good. He didn’t share the amount of info I was used to hearing from other guides, and seemed more interested in just getting us through. We spent some of our valuable tour time waiting in line to purchase our tickets for the Colosseum. I felt a bit scammed because of the high price we paid, but was grateful we were able to have any experience at all, given the last minute nature of it.

Review

Hi, Trip very poor value. €179 for a rushed 1hr 30min tour …Expected a longer more detailed tour with leaflet info for that price. First part of tour was very rushed in order to reach Colosseum before closing @ 5pm. Road closure for D’Italian Giro on 31/5/26 affected access to reaching meeting point. Area crazy busy with road closure. Due consideration should have been taken into account regarding the cycle race. Three people involved- One at meeting point; Second -brought us to the guide; Initial difficulty in seeing / keeping up with guide up with guide as no ID / flag on staff in an extremely crowded area.

Operator response

I'm sorry for your bad experience but if theres crowd and road closures then we can't help . Thanks

Funny Colosseum tour :)

Benjamin was a great tour guide. A lot of adult humor, which we really appreciated. He was very engaging with the tour group.

Overpriced and not as advertised. No collosseum tour

Would not recommend. 1. This tour is ridiculously overpriced for what you receive. The price was over €150 per person but the entry to the venue was only €18. So they charged over €130 per person for a guided group of approx 10 ppl which lasted less than 1.5hrs The guide was very mediocre - I’ve never been on such a rushed tour. Some of the older attendees actually asked me if I could walk slower with the baby to force the guide to slow down. 2. The trip is not at all as described. The itinerary said 1hr in the collosseum with a full guided tour. Followed by 20minutes in forum and 20minutes palatine hill. In reality what we got was an hour of palatine hill - without time to go inside up or up to any of the view points. No time for photo stops and the guide only got us into the collosseum entrance and then left us immediately in the entrance hall as the end of the tour and told us to go round the collosseum ourselves with no guide at all. 3. Super disorganised. They changed the start time on the day. The guide seemed like it wasn’t his regular job. We came with a baby which we advised in advance - online ticketing said don’t need a ticket if under 1 year, then on the day they say it’s 6months ( which is incorrect when I checked at ticketing desk). Plus they they advised us to carry the baby ( for 2hrs in 30degrees) as it wasn’t suitable for a strollers and said can’t be taken into collosseum - also incorrect as the collosseum is all flat with accessible ramps, and lifts so no problem at all. Palatine hill a bit bumpy and a few steps but also plenty of people with strollers.

Operator response

Please read everything before you book because we mentioned everything clear about price and itinerary. We already mentioned that stroller is not allowed because we walk ups and down in forum .
