Mario Goncalves was great, loved the “theories”
Mário Gonçalves is the best guide ever. He was funny, helpful, kind, engaging and informative. He's absolutely goated.
Great tour, really recommend it, Mario was very good with time management and very friendly.
Mario was an amazing guide! Made the experience very valuable and enjoyable! Highly recommend.
Our full-day tour to Sintra was mostly fantastic. The itinerary is great, and our guide, Pedro, was incredibly knowledgeable about the area's rich history. However, a major issue later in the day turned what should have been a 5-star experience into a 4-star one.The tour allows you to book based on language preferences, but they ended up splitting our bus between an English group (9 people) and a Spanish group (20 people). Because Pedro had to guide in both languages, it felt like a lot of moments were missed when he was trying to point out relevant sights along the way.The real issue happened at Quinta da Regaleira. Pedro explicitly told all 9 English speakers to meet him at the entrance so we could all walk back together. All of us were out front waiting for over 30 minutes, but we didn’t see him or any of the Spanish speakers. As departure time approached, we got worried. The WhatsApp chat set up for the tour only allowed him to send broadcast messages, so we had no way to reply or contact him.Ten minutes after the scheduled meetup time, he sent a broadcast saying the bus was leaving and we needed to get there expeditiously. We were completely confused since all 9 of us heard the exact same original instruction. We had to briskly walk and even run to the original morning drop-off point—which was a 30-minute walk that we had to rush through in 15 minutes due to the threat of being left behind. In the rush, one lady in our group even fell and bruised herself. When our pack finally made it to the bus, frazzled and stressed, we let him know there must have been a miscommunication since all 9 English speakers had the exact same wrong direction. Furthermore, the fact that he was walking with only the Spanish group should have been an indicator to him that the other half of his tour was missing. Instead of offering a simple apology, Pedro argued back, insisting he does this daily and that it was entirely our fault. A simple "sorry for the misunderstanding" would have rectified the situation and gotten everyone back on track or even checking in with the lady who fell as I asked him if there was forest aid kit but he never acknowledged. Instead, his defensiveness completely ruined the atmosphere for the rest of the trip, leaving the English group feeling like we had to strictly look out for one another just to make sure no one got left behind. It’s a great tour, but the company seriously needs to leave language groups separated and fix their WhatsApp communication settings, and Pedro needs to handle group mishaps with a bit more grace and accountability.
We had a great time and also learned a lot with Mario, our tour guide, and Clayson, our driver, during August 16, 2026. Mario is a fun, cult and, above all, respectful person. As for Clayson, he's an excellent driver and, moreover, he's adorable. We do not bother for a moment throughout the day and strongly recommend anyone to book this guided tour and count on Mario and Clayson as tour guide and driver.
We had such a lovely time visiting Cascais and Sintra, especially discovering the amazing Pena Palace and the mesmerizing Regaleira. Special thanks to our amazing driver Clay and our fantastic guide Mario. We absolutely recommend it !
Enjoyable. More time at the pena palace to see the garden. Mario G our guide and the driver were 10 out 10.
The tour is long because you visit several places but the guide enlivens you. Pending at all times of the group and that no one was left behind.
Beautiful day of sightseeing in Cascais and Sintra. The guide Lili knew the history well and gave us a good summary of it.
