Our visit to the Sintra was unforgettable, thanks to our incredible tour guide, Hugo. He was exceptional from start to finish — funny, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Hugo kept the whole group laughing while still giving us deep insight into the palace and gardens architecture, royal history, and hidden quirks. I couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. If you’re visiting Sintra, make sure you go with Hugo — he truly elevates the experience.
Great guide! Very happy with overall trip and experience. Stress free tour with knowledgeable guide to understand the history.
Sintra was beautiful and a great break from the heat of Lisbon. Pena Palace was very interesting. It did include a fair amount of walking that I wasn’t prepared for. (Side note to Viator: I wish you would provide some distance walking estimates in your descriptions. The tour was probably 3 miles of hills and I’m an above knee amputee so it was very difficult. As the population ages, adding more detail on steps or distance will help people make the right decisions)
Hugo is an absolute gem of a tour guide. His knowledge and passion of history is deep and contagious. He does an incredible job of making you feel comfortable and engaged. He is always happy to answer questions and share what he knows. He is genuine, and you can tell that he truly cares about what he does. He's also very accommodating of everyone. 11/10 experience and that's not even counting the beauty and magnitude of the sights themselves. Would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic tour! Made seeing Sintra with 3 teens very easy and enjoyable. (When is anything with teens easy!!) They were engaged and even posed for pictures. We had a great day!
HUGO the guide was great!! He made the tour super efficient and knows how to beat the crowds and all the right spots! Great half-day Tour!!
My partner and I truly enjoyed this tour. Leo, our tour guide, was the highlight. He was so knowledgeable, personable and was happy to answer any questions anyone had. I highly recommend this fascinating tour, and requesting Leo if possible!
We did the half-day excursion to Sintra, the Pena Palace, and the Quinta da Regaleira, and the experience could not have been better. Our guide, Valeria, was incredibly professional and attentive at all times. She explained every detail clearly, pleasantly, and very thoroughly, making the visit great from beginning to end. You can tell when someone enjoys their work and takes care of their group. Without a doubt, an essential tour and a ten-out-of-ten guide. We would do it again without thinking!
Wonderful experience that our guide Hugo enriched with lots of information, interesting facts, and friendliness. The tour was the right length and allowed us to see the essentials of Palácio da Pena, Sintra, and Quinta da Regaleira. We recommend it.
We enjoyed this half-day visit to Sintra although the start time of 8am was early for us. The guide was particularly good, very knowledgeable and caring as there were many steps to climb. We would recommend this tour.
