Shark cage diving & viewing tours in Gansbaai

There was no Great White shark the whole propaganda is GW Shark so what is it that they are not telling us are they pushed a way buy the government from the GW Sharks area or the sharks are not their any more !!!!

Great experience. Safety above all else was the common thread but not a detractor from the adventure. Super to see sharks and roggwn up close. Great!

Went with my partner. We both got a little sea sick on the boat. The boat was a little crowded, not too much room to change into wet suits etc. The crew were good. A good experience overall, just wish it was a little warmer, but at this time of year it was normal temperature 12/13 degrees

Was fun. Disappointed the great whites are gone but still a cool experience to see other sharks up close in the wild.

The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful during our tour - telling us about the different sharks we saw, helping us with our wetsuits, and providing water and snacks after our turn in the cage. They made sure everyone got a chance to be face to face with a shark, and Edgar did a great job taking videos of our experience, including some action shots!

This was a fun experience! We were able to see 4 bronze whale sharks extremely close up! I would keep in mind that great white sharks are not in the area often due to orcas so if you’re set on those this may not be for you. I would also add that it gets extremely rocky on the boat! I did end up vomiting. However, it was still a good experience and I would do it again!

Everything from the arrival to the explanation of the day to the actual sharks and manta ray was amazing. The guides are incredibly helpful and the simple lunch was fantastic. I highly recommend this excursion!!

Great experience, just be prepared for cold water and blurry viewing under water due to the chum being thrown in to draw the sharks near you.

Firstly, our driver Ronnie was great! Provided stops along the long journey and was really kind and answered lots of questions. The trip itself was an experience. There was plenty of shark activity for our group of 20. There were 4 groups of 4/5 that went for 20 minutes at a time. First and last group got the best viewing but think that's down to luck. I didn't see anything in the cage, but I had fantastic views from the boat and saw lots of sharks. It was a bit chaotic handing out wetsuits but other than that it was well organised. Bottled water was provided and lollipops if you felt a little queasy. You can choose to pay 300ZAR extra for oxygen so you don't have to hold your breath under the water when sharks appear. In our experience, if we could do it again we would do it without - once your under the water you can't hear the lookout guide telling you which way to look as the sharks approach so it's easier to miss them. All in all a good tour, and we were provided with a light breakfast and then some soup and bread on return. Would recommend, but keep your expectations real that they are wild and not predictable so you may not get the experience you hope for.
