WARNING! Do not book with Nomade Tours! I strongly warn everyone to avoid this scam of a tour operator. We booked a 3D2N Kinabatangan River safari, which explicitly guaranteed 4 river cruises and a private local homestay. Just one day before departure, they hit us with a shocking ultimatum: we were unilaterally downgraded to a shared dormitory with strangers, and our itinerary was cut down to only 3 river cruises. When we protested, they replied with extreme arrogance, treating us with utter disrespect. They made it clear there was absolutely no room for discussion—it was either accept their downgraded terms or face immediate cancellation.To make matters worse, they flat out refused to refund the price difference, even though a homestay is significantly more expensive than a dormitory. The absolute breaking point was when we spoke with other guests in the exact same dormitory. They had booked just a few days prior and paid a staggering 40% less than us for the exact same package er ended up with. The operator will undoubtedly comment below and come up with pathetic excuses to deny this and try to shift the blame onto us, as they are completely incapable of handling criticism. Do yourself a huge favor, trust this review, and keep your distance from the unprofessional nightmare that is Nomade Tours.

Your subsequent attempt to renegotiate those terms after the fact is inconsistent with the mutual understanding reached at that moment. In cases where a tour is cancelled due to force majeure on the supplier's side, our policy clearly offers travellers the option of a full refund. You were made aware of this right and voluntarily chose to proceed with the alternative itinerary. By completing your payment and confirming the booking, you accepted our terms and conditions in full, and we expect all travellers to honour the agreements they voluntarily enter into. We would also like to draw your attention to the specific contractual provisions that govern this matter as per platform of Nomade, Clause 1.30 grants us the right to substitute equivalent services or issue a refund, subject to availability. Clause 3.5 places responsibility on travellers for their own travel arrangements and any associated appointments or reservations. Clause 4.7 sets out the usage policy applicable in the event of unforeseen circumstances include force majure. These terms were clearly made available to you prior to payment and remain fully binding. The product details, including the 3-river cruise itinerary with dormitory-class and weather-related contingencies, were provided via links and documentation, and your decision not to review them does not invalidate your acceptance of those terms. Travellers paid a reduced rate, and our pricing is fully transparent, inclusive of all platform fees. Your request to pay less after the tour was completed is, price is clear upfront in our view, inconsistent with the principle of good faith in commercial dealings. To put it plainly, it is no different from agreeing to a price at a restaurant and then attempting to negotiate a discount after the meal has been served because refusal to pay. Such conduct raises serious concerns regarding trust and integrity, and we do not believe it warrants any further concession. For all the reasons set out above, we confirm that no further refund or compensation is due under the terms of your agreement with us. This was a magnificent experience. The host family were exceedingly kind and facilitating. The home and bedrooms were of the highest quality. The food they served was the best we had in Malaysia. The tours were absolutely thrilling. We saw wildlife unlike anything we could’ve ever hoped for. The ability of our tour guide to spot, even those obscure animals in the middle of the night bordered on miraculous. All around a life-changing journey.

Amazing experience! We see so much animals and the guide was very patient and helpful
The stay was amazing! Rooms were clean, the staff were very kind and hospitable, and the guides were very knowledgeable. The food was also great with options for vegetarians. Many couples and families on the tour, I was the only solo traveller but still felt accommodated for. I saw 4 of the Borneo 5 (the Pygmy elephant is quite elusive). Overall, a lovely experience I would highly recommend.
