Itinerary
Plaza del Quinto Centenario, commonly known as Plaza del Totem, was constructed in 1992 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in the New World. Standing in the heart of Old San Juan, the plaza is said to hold echoes of the island's complex and often turbulent history, with whispers of the past lingering around the towering totem that dominates the square.
The Cuartel de Ballajá, a massive 19th-century military barracks in San Juan, Puerto Rico, once housed Spanish troops and their families. Now a cultural center, the building is said to be haunted by the restless spirits of soldiers and civilians who experienced the harsh realities of war, their presence felt in the echoes of footsteps and mysterious cold spots throughout the halls.
The Museo de las Américas showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Americas. However, beneath its vibrant displays, visitors have reported eerie occurrences, with the lingering spirits of the past occasionally making their presence known through unexplained noises and sudden chills in the museum’s dimly lit corridors.
Casa Blanca, built nearly 500 years ago, stands as one of San Juan's oldest and most historic structures, originally intended as a fortress and residence for the explorer Juan Ponce de León. Visitors to this ancient mansion often report ghostly encounters, with the eerie feeling of being watched by the spirits of its former inhabitants as they explore its shadowy halls and hidden chambers.
Hotel El Convento, originally a private residence for a Spanish noblewoman, has since transformed into a luxurious hotel with a storied past. Guests often report peculiar occurrences, such as unexplained cold spots and the sound of soft footsteps in the corridors, believed to be the lingering presence of its former residents.
Calle del Cristo is a historic cobblestone street that has witnessed centuries of life, death, and devotion. Legend has it that apparitions of monks and shadowy figures can be seen near the ancient churches that line the street, their presence a haunting reminder of the street's sacred and storied past.
Plaza de San José, a picturesque square surrounded by historic buildings, has long been a site of both reverent gatherings and eerie encounters. The plaza's tranquility is occasionally disrupted by spectral sightings and ghostly whispers, believed to be remnants of its turbulent past during the Spanish colonial era.

I really enjoyed thisbtout wirh Fernando! He was awesome at telling the stories and the history of Old San Juan. I think I may have caught an orb at the graveyard.
Tour guide was stuck in traffic and postponed tour. This was the same traffic I was in and parked 3 miles away and ran to get there on time for it to be postponed. Then a half hour later of waiting, they canceled it all together. They sent email saying I can reschedule next day. I responded saying we would not be able to and would like a refund. Have not heard back from them yet.
Excellent tour and the guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable on the history. Really enjoyed it and highly recommend this! Great overview of the history of San Juan and well worth the overview to start your trip
No one was there and they declined our refund. There was a massive rain storm and maybe that could have been the reason but at least let everyone know and process the refund instead of pocketing the money.
I LOVE ghost tours and I have taken them in lots of cities around the US and the UK. My kids like the spooky, paranormal things and I simply love the eerie stories and the history. We chose this particular tour because of its cheaper price point, as it was a last-minute add-on to our trip. This tour was only an hour, but our guide did actually take almost 90 minutes with us, answering questions, interacting, and allowing the sun to set fully for a more "spooky" atmosphere. He was very knowledgeable about the history of PR and the buildings in the historic district. While there were some references to ghosts and haunts, they were vague and there were no stories about hauntings, sightings, or about specific events that caused a haunting. But, we had a nice walk with a knowledgeable historian. Overall, I feel like we got our money's worth, but if you are looking for a real ghost tour, you may want to look elsewhere.
Fernando was a very good storyteller and tour guide. The tour provides history of old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and about the spirit who continue to call this place home.
This tour was so fun and historically informative! Our guide was super passionate about the history and hauntings of Old San Juan and went above and beyond to make sure we got our moneys worth! Would definitely recommend!
Great tour with scary stories that also included historical context. Fernando was very knowledgeable and it’s evident he loves the subject matter. Fun way to see San Juan at night with the family.
Very sweet guide, but was hoping for more ghost stories and scary things! The tour guide was new, so maybe other guides are more knowledgeable.
This was a SUPER FUN tour!!!!!! Fernando was a wonderful tour guide, you can tell how passionate he is about the history of old San Juan and the ghosts!!! 👻👻 it’s a good bit of walking so make sure you’ve got comfortable shoes on. Some of the terrain is steep or uneven so be careful! Be open minded and you might see a ghost 😏
