Excellent first day in San Francisco.

Very interesting tour. Our guide had grown up in San Francisco and knew all the little details that make the city interesting. He was great driver and took the right amount of stops for bathroom breaks and photos. Muir Woods has to be one of my favorite places on Earth. Absolutely gorgeous. My family always says that it reminds them of Star Wars with the Ewoks. Imagine our joy when we found out the original inhabitants were the Mewoks. Kevin was an amazing tour guide. I would make this the first thing you do in San Francisco. We also did the trip to Alcatraz in the afternoon. It felt like a very full and eventful day. We slept well that night.

Barry was a treasure...

Barry was a treasure trove of information and very helpful to everyone on the tour. The tour let us see a bunch of sights we wouldn’t have if left to our own devices. Highly recommend!!

Personally, if there’s...

Personally, if there’s one thing I would have done different during my vacation is book this trip first out of all my other SF trips! This is a great general introduction that can help you pick where/what you want to do in SF. Patrick was so knowledgeable as a SF native and multifaceted guide. He can crack a joke, make you feel like a friend, and SING! I only wished he could have guided us into Alcatraz too! He made sure to make his directions clear and was right about most of his recommendations about the city/spots we stopped at. I’d love to erase my memory and experience this with him again.

Beautiful Redwoods and Interesting Former Prison

We visited Alctraz in the morning and Muir Woods and Sausalito in the afternoon on an amazing tour. We took a short ferry ride to the island of Alcatraz. Bring a light jacket; it gets cold out on the ocean. Alcatraz is steep. No worries if you have an elderly family member visiting Alcatraz. They can get a free ride on a large golf cart. Be sure to take the audio tour. You get headphones to listen to. You can get an audio tour in several different languages. They tell you where to go: ex. Now walk down the hall and stop in front of Cell 110. Narrators include former prisoners and former guards. They all have great stories to tell. Alcatraz is also a bird sanctuary. All kinds of birds live here. Just respect the boundaries and don't feed or try to touch the birds. There's even a flower garden on the island . The next part of the tour is Muir Woods. Most of the trails are easy and flat. The redwoods are incredible. They are enormous. Muir Woods is shady, peaceful and a great place to spend an afternoon. On the way back to San Francisco, we stopped in Sausalito. It's a pretty seaside town with some nice restaurants and great ice cream. You can eat ice cream and watch the boats come in and out. Our guide, Anya, was from Germany. She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This was a wonderful way to spend a day away from San Francisco. We highly recommend it.

A great, diverse package tour when visiting San Fransisco.

Jules was our guide: he was informative, friendly and patient. The tour itself was a completely unforgettable experience. Muir Woods is breathtakingly beautiful and serene. It really is a must see - outstanding! The drive through Sausalito totally inspired us to revisit in our own time a day or so later. We opted for Alcatraz in the tour package, which is also a must see for very different reasons. The guided audio tour really exceeded my expectations - so thoughtfully put together. All in all a great, diverse package tour. Highly recommended.
