Between rapids, enjoy time to float, swim in warm river pools, and take in the rugged landscapes of central Idaho. Midway through the trip, stop at one of the Salmon River’s famous white sand beaches where your guides prepare a fresh riverside lunch. Your first stop will be at our outdoor center, Mountain River Outdoor Center. You will check in with one of our adventure specialist and get ready for a fun day on the water! Your shuttle driver and guide will meet you at the outdoor center.

Fantastic time. From pickup to safety meeting guides Allie. Nick, chuck and Isaac were fun, friendly and geared so we would have good time. Lunch was an unexpected treat. I was expecting a sandwich w chip but our guides provided fresh cut fruit,pasta salad,chicken wrap. Chips and drinks all on a set of tables prepared while we swam and laid on the beach. Oh and the whitewater rafting’s was great. Truly a high quality experience. Now I want to go on the multi day trip

We had a great 1 day float with MRO and really enjoyed our guides, Jake and Ally. The experience was awesome, the scenery incredible and the waves were a blast! Jake is hilarious, be ready for some laughs!
What a fabulous day trip on the Salmon River! We choose Mountain River Outfitters because of the reviews and now I am inspired to write one too. This company is small and mighty with excellent communication upon booking on what to bring and where to go, day before phone call check-in, reminder about timezones..... They get the details right. More importantly, it was a wonderful all-day experience on the river with Charlie as our guide. What an experienced and highly trained & certified guide who was full of knowledge and excitement to share his passion of this beautiful river with us. He knew this river hands down and shared much history of Riggins throughout the day. Food was freshly prepared and healthy for a robust lunch topped with the best homemade chocolate chip cookie and plentiful drinks provided. My cousin and I (from Florida and Washington) with our spouses met here in Idaho for a memorable family trip. I hope to bring my adult kids back next year earlier in the season for even more white water thrills on a multi-day trip! Highly recommend this outfit for a personalized and wonderful experience!!
We have been rafting the Salmon for years-just finished our 18th consecutive trip. The all day one is really worth it! We loved our guide, very courteous and had great customer service skills. MRO has improved over the last few years but I wish they offered water in an individual bottle but since they have an admirable goal of reducing plastic, I guess I can overlook it as now you have to bring your own water container. Lunches are usually good and the water level was exceptional this year for a few good thrills. We also love they start across the road at the beach from where we camp and bring us back.
An unforgettable day. The Salmon river is stunning. Great rapids. Lovely lunch on a beach with excellent options for vegetarians. Staff were lovely especially our guide Phillip who was outstanding
My son and his 2 high school friends from out of state had a blast. Nick was skilled behind the oars and shared local history and geology with the boys and they got VERY wet. A lot of smiles when I picked the boys up at the end of the day. MRO exceeded their high expectations!
Had the best time! Very relaxing and exciting mixed together. Guides were terrific. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to try rafting and see some beautiful stretches of nature.
What a fantastic day and a great experience from the booking process to the rafting trip. We were the only two booked for this day and so we had other guides making up the numbers which was great. They provided all the gear we needed and, despite the water temp, we were warm the whole day. Our team was led by Emmy and Maddie but everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and pitched in to make it a great day. Lunch was more than we expected and we were happy with our decision to do a full day. We even saw a moose! Highly recommend this company.
