Secret Spot Hot Tubs is a stone’s throw from Rotorua, hidden in the heart of New Zealand’s mountain biking mecca, the Waipa Valley. Discover your own secret spot in the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest after your day’s adventures. You’ll find a place with great atmosphere and a warm welcome, where everything is beautifully handcrafted, from the western red cedar hot tubs to the craft beer and artisan coffee! Secret Spot has 12 hot tubs that are situated along the edge of the forest, overlooking the Puarenga Stream, and each hot tub is perfect for any group of friends or family up to 6 people. You can also explore our unique café and bar set in a forest oasis with native plantings – we have smooth manuka-roasted coffee, Good George craft beer and cider, and Mills Reef wine. Have a bite to eat, play lawn games and enjoy our outdoor campfires, or unwind with a Shinny Dip foot hot tub, free with any drinks purchase.

Great experience, affordable, the tubs are about 45minutes which was plenty of time, we went on a Saturday in winter and it was secluded and not too busy, staff were attentive and helpful.

Beautiful, stunning location for a soak looking on to a forest. Changing rooms could be a bit bigger, but did not detract from the overall experience.

Great experience but would've loved a little longer than 45mins. Loved the private space each tub has and that we had access to cold plunge. The outdoor location and setup was fantastic looking into beautiful nature. Would definitely go again but book for a longer option.

As a local this was our first time visiting Secret Spot, what a treat! Very thoughtfully designed for privacy and to make the most of the wonderful surrounding nature environment. Pools were clean, great temperature and having the drinks service was awesome. Highly recommend.

Wonderful soak in the cedar tub, nice amount of privacy from the other tubs, nice to be able get your drinks delivered. Perfect for a chilly winter day. Only downside is the small women’s changing room. Staff all very helpful and welcoming.
