We visited the Cashel folk/ war of independence museum on Saturday, 2 adults and 2 kids. Cashel is such a beautiful town but I was so impressed by the collection of artefacts in the folk museum. Such a wonderful gem! We have visited all the historical sites in the south east and further a field but this little spot has so much heart and dedication to maintaining our amazing history and our link to the past. Bernard was not there but his daughter Shanon did a great job! We were made feel so welcome and that rare true love and obsession with Irish history hits you when you walk in the door. We recently visited the Epic centre in Dublin… with all its technology etc but this little museum blows it out of the water!! I highly recommend a visit and I can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much for keeping our history alive 💚
What a gem indeed—the Rock of Cashel and Folk Museum tour captures something special about the southeast that bigger sites sometimes miss. Shannon's warmth in sharing that collection clearly resonated with your family, and that sense of heart and dedication you felt is exactly what makes these local, independent museums so powerful. Thank you for choosing LetzGo City Tours!
We really appreciated Maggie our guide, she was very knowledgeable. It was a shame our tour did not include the chapel on the rock. But otherwise great
Thank you for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Rock of Cashel and that Maggie's knowledge helped make your experience memorable. She'll be thrilled to know her passion for the site's history was appreciated. We're sorry you were disappointed that the chapel was not included. Access to certain areas of the Rock of Cashel can occasionally be restricted due to conservation work, religious services, or operational requirements beyond our control. We understand how disappointing that can be and appreciate your understanding. Thank you for choosing to explore this remarkable part of Ireland with us. We hope to welcome you on another LetzGo City Tours experience in the future.
We all learned so much from this tour about Cashel, Ireland history, the Rock, and Tipperary. This was one of our favorite experiences across our two week journey of Ireland. I would highly recommend!

Allow more time than the 2-1/2 hours stated. The historical museum was amazing. We ended up being rushed at the end because we had to get to the castle. When we got to the castle they said no hurry, you can go in any tour at no specific time. It’s a great tour and lots of historical facts that will prove almost everything you thought was accurate isn’t!
The Cashel walking tour with Maggie was absolutely magical! 🌟 From the moment we started, she brought the history and stories of this iconic Cashel community to life with her warmth, humor, and unmistakable local flavor. Maggie is truly a bucket of sunshine, making the experience both educational and incredibly fun. The views are breathtaking, the ruins inspiring, and the tales unforgettable. A couple of tips: bring comfortable walking shoes for the cobblestones and steps, and a rain jacket—Irish weather likes to keep you on your toes! This tour was a highlight of my trip to Ireland and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Cashel.
Cancelled at last minute! Not the first Viator tour that cancelled! Don’t reserve expecting to go - reserve if you simply want to go and it’s an option
This was a very disappointing and over priced tour. I was reluctant when there were only 2 reviews, but they were positive. The place with all of the history of the town was closed. Save your tome & money and just buy the ticket at the Rock of Cashel, which is €8, and it comes with a guided tour which was excellent.
Dear Reed, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. We do want to clarify, however, that during your visit, only the Folk Museum was closed due to operational reasons beyond our control. All other elements of the tour—including the guided visit to the Rock of Cashel and the town highlights—were fully available as scheduled. We understand how disappointing it can be when even one part of an experience is unexpectedly unavailable, but we always strive to ensure our guests still enjoy a rich and meaningful visit. We're glad to hear you appreciated the guided tour at the Rock of Cashel—it’s certainly a highlight and an essential part of Ireland’s history. Thank you again for your comments, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future—hopefully with every site open and ready to explore. Warm regards, The LetzGo Team
John Cash was an informative, engaging, and very kind tour guide. The town and the Rock are so full of important history and John brings it all to life. He was helpful in recommending and walking us to a great lunch spot afterwards, took group photos, and was just a delight. The folk museum as part of this tour is another must-see. Thank you!!
