Truly enjoyed this even though conditions for bioluminescence were ideal. The guides were knowledgeable, charming and attentive. Learned more than I expected and tour seem more eco thoughtful than some of the other companies.
We booked a sunset bio bay tour through Pure Adventure. I really liked that they warned us ahead of time that the bioluminescence would be hard to see and offered a refund if we didn’t want to go. But, don’t let that stop you because kayaking through the mangrove trees at sunset was amazing in itself. And we saw a beautiful sunset. And a night kayak is a unique experience. The guides were knowledgeable and gave us history and science lessons. And Eli serenaded our group on the way back. Once back, we were given snacks and drinks. When they say you will get wet, they mean it so be prepared.
Hello Jlpeters, thank you for taking the time to write this review. We have always tried to be as transparent as possible with our clients about the conditions for the Lagoon. This excursion is a great experience even with low bioluminescent. Thank you! Cordially, Natalia
Good experience ever though the bioluminescence didn’t happen the night we went
Hello E6600, thank you for your review. Cordially, Natalia
Eli, Amaury, Kim, and Catalina were awesome! Eli shared his knowledge of the natural history of the bay and some star gazing. Paddling was easy for whole family and the mangrove canal was beautiful! The guides made sure everyone was safe and gave help to those who needed extra assistance. I would do this trip again with Pure Adventure on my next visit!
hello Laurie_d... Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear your family had a great experience. We are glad you got to enjoy the scenery of the canal and the sunset's amazing view. Hope to see you soon! Cordially, Natalia
It was cool to kayak through the mangroves and be on the bay at sunset. We didn’t see any bioluminescence though, that was disappointing.
hello Carley, thank you for your feedback. Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon it goes up and down, we cannot control it. Thank you for your review. Cordially, Natalia
Great guides, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Hi Axy C! Thanks for visiting us and for sharing your feedback! PURE ADVENTURE TEAM
Everyone is so funny and kind and even made the difficult parts more enjoyable. When I went we could see the bioluminescence because of the sargassum but it was still so much fun!
Hello Simone.. Thank you for your feed back. It always brings us joy to know you had a great time even if the bioluminescence was low. Thank you for your review.
Fantastic tour. Time of year not great for the luminescence part of the kayaking experience but would still hands down do this again. Eli, Kimberly, Gabriel, Manolo did a fantastic job of wrangling everyone and explaining parts of the bay. The kayaking going back was amazing in the dark. The photos were fantastic. So glad we did this!
hello Deanna.. Thank you for taking the time to write an amazing review. We are excited to know that you had an amazing trip. Our island's sunset is beautiful. Thank you for this review and feedback.
Wonderful adventure with my family. The guides were great. Right amount of time in the water and everyone had fun
hello Susan_D, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to this review. We are glad your family had a wonderful time with us. Natalia Robles Pure Adventure PR
This experience is going to vary on a lot of factors, including the physical fitness of the participant. The paddle out and the sunset in the bay are beautiful. I will give it that. The quality of luminescence was so/so but that can’t be controlled and they did a great job of managing expectations. To their credit, the staff made the best of it and did a great job chatting and entertaining the group with info about the stars and nature. The paddle back is when all hell breaks loose. You are paddling back against the current in the pitch black. It was unbelievably chaotic, everyone was crashing, and the guides were shouting instructions but there is obviously only so much they can do with 20+ kayaks crashing into each other in the dark. Even if you’re extremely experienced, the dude next to you probably will not be and he will crash into you. Just know what you’re signing up for. Overall it was a beautiful but the paddle back was absolutely bananas.
