One of the best experiences we had in Madrid! This was not just a guided tour of the Prado — it completely changed the way we look at art. Our private guide brought the paintings to life by taking us into the history, the lives of the artists, the world they lived in, their limitations, and the symbols and stories hidden in their work. Suddenly, you are not just looking at a painting — you are understanding the people, the society, and the history behind it. What I loved most was learning how to truly “read” a painting and see beyond what is immediately visible. It gave us such a different and fascinating perspective and sparked a real curiosity and desire to understand more. You leave realizing that a painting can tell you so much — about history, people, beliefs, power, society, and human nature. An unforgettable experience and a wonderful way to discover the Prado. Our guide, a professor of Art, was exactly what one needs when viewing great works! He was able to describe each work in detail and with enthusiasm. My husband who is NOT familiar with much Art per se, has a new appreciation for it!!!

Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable and approachable. She structured her tour around Spanish art history - what was collected, and what was painted - interspersed with the political history off the region. It was a wonderful introduction and left us wanting to return.

I wasn’t feeling well, our guide got me a wheelchair so I could continue the tour, he even pushed me in it, above & beyond what was expected. Of course the museum is beautiful and had a lot of amazing sculpture. We were surprised that no photos were allowed.

Our guide Ignacio was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and knew to get to the best works of art early. He was insightful of each artist and explained details of the artwork in such an understandable manner. He was attentive to everyone in our group and made sure we were able to see each piece of art up close. We loved our tour! This is definitely a highlight of our trip.

We took our 17 and 13 year old to their first European art museum visit and they really enjoyed it. Ignacio made the on 2.5 hour tour very interesting and he was quite knowledgeable on all the pieces in the museum. In the 2.5 hour tour Ignacio covered most of all the important pieces in the museum. My husband who was not expecting to enjoy the museum said the tour was so wonderful that his visit to the Prado was the highlight of his trip to Madrid. I highly recommend this tour with Ignacio. He was very knowledgeable, professional and punctual.
