Itinerary
Time for an introduction to cicchetti, Venice’s famous tapas-like bites, at a family-run bar. Enjoy two local favorites paired with a drink.
Next, at another family-run bar, you'll try two of their specialty cicchetti featuring cod with a glass of prosecco.
From there, you'll step into a bright, friendly little shop for a street-food style take on Venetian seafood made with products fresh from the nearby market.
Step into the heart of Venice’s food scene: the Rialto Fish Market. As you peruse the overflowing aisles, your guide will explain how ancient trade routes and a strong maritime history have shaped the diets of Venetians, and how they still get the freshest fish from the Mediterranean. Please note: Evening food tours will not visit the market as it is closed at night.
This family-run delicatessen shop is a favorite of many locals. You'll try a selection of regional cheeses.
Extend your knowledge to include the seasonality of vegetables and locally produced specialties. Stop at a fresh fruit stand and taste incredible seasonal delights.
Head to the locals’ bacaro (wine bar) of choice for an aperitif in the Rialto area. They’re known for their high-quality light bites and spritzes, which you’ll try for yourself.
After a short ride in a gondola to cross the Grand Canal, it’s time for a sit down meal! Tucked down a tiny side street, this cozy modern bacaro is one of Venice's best-kept secrets. Dig into freshly prepared risotto and sip a glass of wine. Cap off your tour on a delicious note with a sweet Italian dessert, homemade tiramisu.

Daniella was wonderful! Had the best time.
Anna was amazing! Genuinely interested in why we picked the tour and what we wanted to learn. She clearly loves what she does. We never felt rushed and while it was well planned it didn't feel cookie cutter. We qlso learned a lot about the origins of food. If we had more time in venice we would specifically ask for her on future tours!! A little bit if everything food wise was perfect!
Barbara was fantastic, very sweet and just fun way to start the morning in Venice. Seeing all the side streets, small eateries and the fish market was fantastic. Highly recommend.
