It was a nice trip. Perfect driver and guide. The 4x4 driver was also fantastic. The waterfalls are not interesting, you can skip it and spend more time in the oasis.
We had an incredible day on our private tour with Abdul, visiting the City of Whales, Magic Lake and the waterfalls in El Fayoum. On our way we even stopped to get some delicious local batata on the side of the road. An unexpected treat! I highly recommend the City of Whales, I never knew this UNESCO world heritage site existed and it is truly incredible, located in the middle of (what seems like outerspace) the desert surrounded in quiet soft windy breezes and pristine undisturbed sands. You feel like you're the only people in the world. Which makes sense since this area was once 100+ feet underwater. It's hard to believe you're looking at 4 million year old remains. We also went to magic lake which looks like a mirage until you get up close to it. It's a sparklingly beautiful lake situated between miles of smooth sand dunes. Many of which we got to jump off of in our all terrain jeep on the way there. Quite an adventure! After stopping at the El Fayoum waterfalls, another beautiful site, we finished the day with a yummy meal provided by the sheik of the white desert followed by sand dune sledding! A must-try experience! Thank you Abdul for a fantastic day. It was truly memorable and we would definitely do it again!
