Do not eat before you go on this tour! We are fried foods, made our own pizzas, had cheese salami and flavored balsamics, wine, gelato, AND pastries! It was definitely filling. Our VESPA drivers did a great job making us feel safe as we drove around the city!
Pepe was a great guide. He educated me on a lot of history about Napoli and the culture that I did not learn the last time I visited. I felt very safe navigating through Napoli with him. Most importantly, he didn’t know my story but his gift to me brought me to tears. Grazie mille!
What an amazing experience . Carolina our guide and Giovanni our driver were both very professional and made us feel very safe . The Vespas were awesome and driving into Positano and Amalfi ( bypassing all the tour buses and traffic ) took my breath away . We pulled in at great viewing points where Carolina took some fab photos of us . We got lots of information and good tips from Carolina , the coffee and cake was delicious. Would highly recommend this tour.
I was initially concerned about riding around Naples on a Vespa. I was completely wrong, it was terrific way to experience Naples. The drivers were experienced and their top priority was making sure we were safe. The guide was excellent too. The private experiences they set up your wonderful. Our favorite was making the pizza and eating it! It was the best pizza I’ve ever had!
Mixed feelings about this tour. My guide was quite a large man which meant I couldn't hold onto the hand grip which was under his rear! This resulted in me wrapping my arms around him and clinging on for dear life. I couldn't see anything! Combine that with the fumes smell, the heart stopping traffic, the 'vintage' Vespa which kept stalling, and I couldn't wait to get off. Aside from all that, the tour felt disorganised and unprofessional, a bit like the guides were winging it. The coffee stop was great, but no taralli appeared. The cuoppa di frittura stop was completely not expecting us and we had to wait for the fryers to heat up. The pizza stop was great, we made our own pizza, but again, they didn't seem to be expecting us. We were not offered the promised glass of Campania red, and ended up buying our own wine. The ice cream stop was great but just a shop on the high street that we already passed ten times. No handmade chocolates appeared, we didn't even get to the chocolate factory, and the guide forgot our local souvenir. All in all, uncomfortable, expensive, ill prepared and elements missing.
Dear customer, We thank you for your contribution even if we are very sorry that your experience was this, moreover on a tour reputed to be 100% more than positive with enthusiastic reviews only 5 stars in many years! There are some things I disagree with: First of all, in my humble opinion, it makes no sense to choose a city tour on a scooter (in a famously chaotic city like Naples) and complain about the smog ...! For the future, we suggest you opt for a different kind tour (in the countryside where you can breathe deeply the smells of nature or near the sea) instead of choosing a city tour on a scooter where, of course, you are clearlyin contact with the smell of smog. I also guarantee that the vintage Vespa produces less annoying emissions than current modern scooters. With regard to the vintage Vespa, consider that you have chosen a tour on a vehicle over 60 years old and I personally think, even in this case, that it makes little sense to complain about the speed of the engine ...! You clearly did not enter the chocolate factory as it is not always open, as carefully specified in the tour description. Maybe you didn't read carefully. It says just like this: "Gay Odin Chocolate Factory is closed on Saturdays and Sundays". Therefore also this criticism personally I consider it without foundation...! About the wine... We don't understand why you say you didn't have the wine. Vincenzo, your guide, remembers with extreme precision that between you two customers the mother wanted the wine and her daughter only wanted the water. We really don't understand why you say there was no wine...!!! About the ice crea, we don't understand what the problem is related to the ice cream stop. You call it "fantastic" but you didn't like that it was made in a shop ... Where should we make it? Why can't a stop for an ice cream be made in an ice cream shop? I don't really understand to be honest...! The souvenir of this tour is the "Vesuvio" chocolate from the Gay Odin chocolate factory which, as mentioned, was closed. For this reason it was not delivered to you. But on the days when the factory is closed, clients make a complete tasting during the stop for the coffee break which, you will certainly remember, there was (and which you have defined as "fantastic"): you will certainly remember that you did not consume espresso coffee + sfogliatella standing up but Babà, Sfogliatella and Cappuccino sitting at the table...! Unfortunately there was an extraordinary unscheduled closure of the fry shop on that day, so you stopped for a tasting in another fry shop. I am very sorry for the 10 minute wait it takes to heat up the fryers. Instead, I am very pleased that during the wait Vincenzo told you the story of Naples. He is a great guide! I am also happy that the freshly cooked products consumed were to your liking For the pizza lesson, which you also define "fantastic", they were absolutely waiting for you. I don't know why you got the feeling they weren't expecting you, I'm sorry but that's not the case at all. The arrival times are fixed and very precise, especially in the pizzeria because the Pizza Class lasts 1 hour and must not overlap with the entry time of regular customers. Regarding the size of the driver, we will suggest to Luigi a strict diet even if having a size L does not prevent a person from being a driver. In the meantime, we can assure you that there are no handles or hooks on the Vespa saddle that it was unable to grip due to the size of the driver. We assure you that what is to be seen is on the right and left and not in front. The view from a tour bus is through the side windows, it usually goes like this. I don't know what else to add. My daughter and I had a fabulous time touring the city with Enzo and Luigi. A very hot day so the breeze on that back of the Vespas was very welcome. The food was amazing and we went home stuffed!! Making our own pizza was great. We would highly recommend and worth every penny. Maxine & Emily
The Tout Napoli in vintage Vespa, made last Thursday afternoon was definitely one of our best activities and memories in Naples. Including the private walking tour in Naples city with the sweet and professional Daniela. Francesco my Vespa driver was a great guide, full kindness, attentive to my comfort, All the guysguides were very friendly, nice and allowed us to see, hear and feel Naples in all its glory zigzagging in the streets and stopping in cultural and strategic places of the city. As well as a well-appreciated stop to taste the famous sfogliatella and Neapolitan coffee. This was such a fun and great way to see Naples! Our guide and drivers were very friendly and we felt safe, and the food was great! The company was also very flexible and accommodating because I had to change our reservation several times because of travel delays. Highly recommend!
Enzo was a great tour guide, he took us around town and the best food for me was the arancini- so good! We know more about Napoli culture now and how it’s connected to the local foods. Making pizza at OWAP was awesome!
We had a great time exploring Naples via Vespa. Our Tour guide was amazing, his knowledge was only outdone by his friendly personality. The entire company was amazing. We had a last minute schedule change and they were very responsive and accommodating. When our boat got delayed we were running up to meet our guides and they were so nice and accommodating. The places we got to go were great, and likely things we wouldn't have discovered on our own. You won't be disappointed if you book this tour, nothing beats experiencing the lively bustle in the midst of the traffic on a Vespa and eating your way across town. What's not to love? We both agreed it was our favorite experience in Napoli!
