Excelent tour, excelent guide Daniel, very good food and fado. Very interesting experience in Moreria and Alfama. Thanks Daniel and restaurant and spectacle of Fado. I recomend to mutch.
Excellent guide Leslie took through Moureira and Alfama neighborhoods where Portuguese Fado music originated. She provided great overview and history of Fado and went to a few viewing points of Lisbon. We had a nice dinner and Fado performances at a wonderful venue Fama d’Alfama. All in all a great evening.
Leslie was fabulous. She was so informative about other things besides Fado. We had a great walk, dinner and Fado experience.
Our guide Daniel met us at the meeting place promptly and told us what to expect for the tour. Since we have a slight mobility problem, we adjusted the walking tour. We went through the old Moorish part of the city and went up to a scenic spot that gave us a panoramic view. Daniel pointed out many points of interest and explained the historical significance. He introduced us to a very charming man who has opened a small tavern since 1974 and served us a wonderful sour cherry liquor, ginghua, and told us some stories regarding Sr. Antonio. We then continued our tour to the Alfama district and showed us the area where Fado was born in the early 1800s. He told us about the origin and some of the godfathers and divas of Fado. The music has a rich history rooted in the pain and passion of the people in Alfama, and Daniel expressed it in his narrative. We then proceeded to a small restaurant that serves typical Portuguese food and drinks and features performances by leading Fdo artists, including one of the co-owners. We were fortunate to be there on a night when the artist playing the Portuguese guitar who happened to be a godfather of Fado who had accompanied the "second Diva" of Fado. During the entire dinner and performances, Daniel discussed the pieces being performed and why he had the tour company allow him to select this restaurant, and Fado show over "touristy" spots. Daniel is truly a gem of a guide, and we highly recommend his Fado and Dinner walk excursion when in Lisbon.
Interesting walk with lots of information about fado singers and at the end a delicious meal with a fado performance. Recommended. Daniël our guide was enthusiastic and knows a lot about the history of fado and Lisbon. This tour also provided us with extra information about activities for the following days. A great start to our holiday in Lisbon.
Daniel was extremely knowledgeable on everything Portugal. He shared a lot of interesting information on the city itself along with the Fado music. We all loved our time with him and enjoyed hearing his personal stories as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour with Daniel.
Great experience, fun and enjoyable. Visited places we would not have found ourselves, so well appreciated
Daniel was an excellent guide and made the tour enjoyable. He was great at explaining fado’s influence and showed us amazing views and hidden gems around Mouraria. The Fado tour was a great choice to end the day and I would highly recommend to others to book this tour.
I would highly recommend the Fado show and dinner tour! I hadn't heard of the genre before, but our incredible tour guide, Daniel (a professional musician himself), introduced us to the music in a way that was knowledgeable, kind, and passionate. In the process, we walked through authentic areas of Lisbon that we would not have otherwise seen. The walking tour was capped off with a delicious dinner with front-row seats to a real-live Fado show at a Lisbon restaurant. This tour is a must for anyone interested in music and seeing the real Lisbon!!
Atmosphere & Fado music was wonderful Great singers History story told by our guide was very informative
