Private tour in Saint-Tropez

We arrived late at the port because the tender from our cruise ship took a long time, but Alexandre waited patiently for us to get there , he gave us a full tour of Saint-Tropez . he is great to talk to and knows all the best spots.

We had a private tour scheduled for 10:00 AM and arrived at the designated meeting location 45 minutes before our scheduled time. Our tour guide Alexandre was not there. The guide later explained that he had tried to contact us at 8:30 AM. However, we were on a cruise ship and did not have cellular capability so we never received his message or were unable to read it until we took a tender and made it to shore. Regardless, our tour was scheduled for 10:00 AM, and we were exactly where we were supposed to be at that time, actually, well ahead of that time and there was no tour guide. When we finally reached him, he told us he was about 20 minutes away. I asked him to come pick us up anyway, even if it meant having a shorter tour. I specifically told him, "That's fine—just come and get us." Instead, he was reluctant to do so and after speaking briefly with my husband, he told my husband that he’s not coming back and effectively canceled the tour. He was rude and unprofessional to my husband and knew he never had any intentions of driving back 20 minutes to pick us up. Why was he 20 minutes away at 0955 when we called him, anyway? He was supposed to be at the meeting place by the tender drop point! To make matters worse, he refused to provide even a partial refund, despite the fact that my husband tried to explain our lack of cellular service because the ship was anchored out and we were present at the agreed meeting place well before the scheduled time! While I understand that he attempted to contact us earlier that morning, that does not change the fact that he was not at the designated meeting location at the agreed 10:00 AM start time. We were ready and waiting, but the tour never happened. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this tour operator, Alexandre. If you're booking through Viator, be aware that if you're unable to receive messages before your scheduled tour—as can easily happen when arriving by cruise ship which is tendered not docked at the port, you may find yourself without a tour and without a refund if booked with Alexandre!

Lovely guide, great tour, what a good way to see St Tropez and get around. Very flexible as well, great communication, really appreciated this.

Very disappointing the driver took us up high to a spot that my husband who had a walker could not do so obviously, he had to stay at the bottom. And wait, you would think that he would see that we had someone that was disabled and not take us to the highest point I kept asking him that we wanted to go to the port to shop and he said I’ll get you there. I’ll get you there. Then on the way back he wanted to stop someplace else to see another high point and we said no and then he took us to the middle of the downtown and said get out and we said no my husband wants to go to the ship. Can you take himthere and he said no you can walk from here ! it’s very close to the market. It’s a great market just turn right. And 5 minute walk ! Not knowing where we were we told him to take us to the port and my husband would get off and goback to the ship He then gives us directions to go to the market but the market by the time we got there which he said was five minutes away !!it was not five minutes away. It was far and it was closed. So you would think that he would’ve taken us to the market first thing when he picked us up ! That would’ve been a very smart thing to do but no, he insisted that we go to the top to some old castle. When I texted him the night before to ask what the itinerary was he said don’t worry all is good. Well all was not good and we were very very disappointed in what we saw. Yes we saw the landscape and he was very nice to explain it. Another issue was that he brought his son. I’ve never heard of a tour guide taking his son with him. His son sat in the front seat, and therefore we all had to crowd into the back. On any other Viator tour one of the men sat in the front seat, so made it more comfortable for us in the back. I could go on and on, but that’s what I have to say at the moment. I hope that you will reimburse me because I spent thousands of dollars on Viator so looking forward to a credit back to my Visa.

What a nice experience to get out of the city and see the amazing areas of Port Grimaud, Grimaud and Gourdon. Had a great time with Franck, brush up on your Duolingo French to make it even more enjoyable. A great three hours.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience in St. Tropez, Grimaud, Port Grimaud and Gassin with our tour guide, Alexander. He was warm, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for not just a tour, but a memorable and enriching experience.

We had a wonderful time! We saw many interesting sites in the St. Tropez area and we had some free in Port Grimaud. Alexandre was a very knowledgeable and personable local guide. In addition to the planned itinerary, he showed us some special sites that only a local would know about. Thanks for a great experience!

We had a wonderful visit and tour with Alexandre in St Tropez today. We visited so many incredible places in and around St Tropez and Alexandre did a great job describing all of them. Can't wait to go back !!

Driver nice but didn’t provide enough historical info during the tour. He was pleasant . The drive was comfortable ,but didn’t start on time….. almost forty min later than stated on reservation ticket. Didn’t have time to see everything that was planned.
