Itinerary
You’ll be picked up from your Naples hotel in the morning and taken by modern car to Sorrento, where your Vespa tour starts. Strap on your helmet, hop on the back of a vintage Piaggio Vespa, and let your expert guide take you on a scenic, invigorating ride along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, stretching 31 miles (50 km) along the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula. First, spend some time exploring the small town of Sorrento, a popular tourist destination overlooking the Bay of Naples with Naples, Capri and Mt Vesuvius in the distance. Then travel along the characteristic curves of the coastline while taking in incredible views. You’ll stop in several coastal towns to explore by foot, sightsee, take photos and enjoy free time to wander at your leisure.
Stop for coffee and cake (included) about an hour into your tour before continuing along the coast to the town of Amalfi, once the capital of the maritime republic of Duchy of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839 and 1200. At lunch time, grab a traditional Italian meal at a local restaurant in the lovely Atrani (own expense) to enjoy the most genuine traditional Mediterranean cuisine. You’ll also visit the Emerald Grotto, a cave located in Cape Conca that’s flooded with a brilliant blue or emerald light. Your Vespa ride ends back in Sorrento, where you’ll then transfer back to Naples by car, arriving in the evening. You’ll be given a handmade, local artisan gift as a souvenir to remember your Amalfi Coast Vespa tour forever!
La nostra guida ti accompagnerà in una piacevole passeggiata tra le tipiche botteghe locali, le caratteristiche stradine, l'imponente Cattedrale e i tipici baretti che colorano la piazza principale, in un'atmosfera tipicamente italiana.
Make your way to Positano, perhaps the coast's most photogenic town, with steeply stacked houses cascading down to the sea. On your visit here, you'll begin to understand why famous author John Steinbeck described Positano as "...a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”

I’m honestly speechless… today was simply unforgettable. It was such an incredible experience, and Gabriele truly gave his very best from the heart. He was so attentive, kind, and thoughtful the entire time—always making sure I felt comfortable, safe, and that I was really enjoying every moment, especially on the Vespa. I felt completely taken care of, and because of that, I could fully relax and just enjoy the beauty of the day. It was not just a tour—it was a truly unique and special experience that I will carry with me for a long time. Thank you so much for this amazing day. It meant more to me than I can put into words. Also the pick-up and bring back with Salvatore was a special time… Thxxx 🫶

Private Tour: Amalfi Coast by Vintage Vespa from Positano We loved the Vespa riding itself! Good drivers. Safe drivers. Enjoyable people. Couldn’t have been nicer to us. Fun, fun, fun! Our tour started about ten to fifteen minutes late in Positano, because, although the three of us arrived early, the directions to meet were not quite accurate. The leader wasn't allowed next to the garage where we were told to meet, and we did not pick him out on the street around the corner as he didn't have the Vespas nearby. I made contact with the office to help us find each other. However, this apparently meant we were late for the Emerald Cave tour, which we did not learn until later, and it was a costly tour error. When we arrived at the cave, we had to wait for the next tour, and the whole thing took an HOUR of our Vespa time – an extra 30 minutes! The whole thing came to about $160 riding time + $24 in entrance fees! This Emerald Cave is totally a tourist trap! Ask to skip it! I wish it had been explained and that we had been given a choice to go or not go. I thought we would make up for some of this wasted time at the end of the tour, but unfortunately, that did not happen. It only rushed the day’s itinerary. The guided spots were a beautiful bridge with swimming area, the outside of the Amalfi Cathedral with a stop for coffee and delizia al limone (delicious), and one beautiful overlook terrace. Riders are sent on their own to the Emerald Cave and to Villa Rufolo in Ravello (separate costs). Danillo pointed out a good lunch spot in Ravillo where we were given one hour to tour Villa Rufolo and to dine. The time was way too short and very, very rushed for the villa and lunch both. In fact, the man in the restaurant surprised me with a free limoncello, because he said we needed to slow down and enjoy! I only wish we could have. The food was so amazing! I had to ask Danillo for extra time to pop into the ceramic shop, which was cheerfully granted, but the tour ended at the slotted time anyways. We did not “explore” Positano. We just rode through it. “Visit Positano with a walk in the center between boutiques and craft shops, before getting off at the beach to enjoy the famous views of the colorful village of Positano.” Never happened. Neither did we receive a “typical Neopolitan gift,” as stated on the tour page of included items. We did not stop for any Vespa rider photos at any known photographic spots. I wish we had. A real loss. Maybe the drivers could suggest some spots in the future? Recommendation to the company: Show the riders a timeline before starting so that there can be better communication and use of time. I think the drivers are people of integrity and really want to please the customer.
This was a great excursion if you want to do something different and fun. The scenery is breath taking and the stops along the way in Positano, the Grotto Smeraldo and Amalfi made it all the more interesting. I had a pick up in Naples from the cruise terminal which worked out very well. My guide, Emanuele, was professional, friendly and a good driver, I felt safe at all times. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to see the Amalfi Coast.
My fiancé and I arrived in Positano and went on the Amalfi Coast private tour from Positano with Enzo and Luigi the following day. We can’t say enough positive things about both of them and about the tour itself. They’re engaging, informative, incredibly nice, and very passionate about their jobs. We loved the panoramic views which were way better on a Vespa. Our guides pointed out so many things which we would’ve missed on our own, and we can’t imagine trying to drive on those roads ourselves 😜. Being able to go on this tour on our second day in town helped give us a better sense of the coastline and get to know the areas better. We highly recommend going into the Emerald Caves which were beautiful (roughly $5 per person, not included but totally worth it). Again, totally worth going on this tour and can’t recommend it enough. Thanks Enzo and Luigi! You guys are amazing and we had a blast! - Ryan and Kristen
Was the best day in Positano! Danilo was a perfect driver and I learned so much about the area. I will do again!
Must do activity!!! Beautiful, fun, and interesting. The guides were great and took their time with us
My tour was billed as a Fiat ride from the port in Naples and a Vespa tour of Sorrento and Positano. The driver of the car and the driver of the Vespa were both very friendly and professional. However the Fiat turned out to be a Mercedes. I was disappointed because a Fiat is what I wanted as it fit the location and I love them. I asked why the change but was not clear about the answer since the driver's English was thick with Italian accent. Then I was also surprised to learn that the Vespa portion of the day was only the portion between Sorrento and Positano. The entire return trip was in the Mercedes again. So I felt I got the "bait and switch" but I was still happy with the beauty of the region and had a good day.
Hi Joanne, we learn with great disappointment and sadness your Tripadvisor review. We are really sorry that the experience has been not of your liking but, for justice, I want to specify some things: We have never sold a Vespa Tour + Fiat Tour since NapolinVespa was born. Our customers can choose between Vespa, Fiat or Ape Tour. Your request was for a customized Vespa Tour. If you believed that there would be a Vespa and also a Fiat, I'm sorry to say, but it was your supposition. I am sure that you keep in your mailbox our email but, in case you have not these email, here I'm writing you the text of my first email which tells you clearly what the tour includes. You will not find the Fiat (also because Fiat, like Vespas, is not able to make transfers from Naples to Sorrento and again from Sorrento to Naples... it's a too long trip for vehicles of the 50s and 60s, which I also told you in my first mail). … "Our Sorrento Peninsula and Positano Vespa Tour for 1 person includes: 1) 1 VINTAGE VESPA in perfect working conditions 2) 1 tour guide authorized in the requested language (who drives) 3) Helmet with disposable liner 4) Coffee break with a taste of the typical Delizia al Limone, a local pastry (or whatever you prefer) in a nice and relaxing Cafè in Sorrento 5) access to Limoncello laboratory and liqueur tasting 6) One typical Neapolitan hand made gift 7) Pick up and drop off at your hotel 8) Two-way transfer from/to Naples by PRIVATE CAR with driver" … The "bait and switch" expression deeply hurt us because we are honest and righteous people and we try to offer our customers unforgettable experiences that will make them able to bring in the heart a handful of us and of our beloved land forever. We condemn the cheats that are too often offered to tourists during travel (it has unfortunately happened also to us). That's why we work with the soul and heart to make NapolinVespa a clean pearl. We are light years away from selling "bait and switch". You can receive the proof of our extreme kindness from the fact that, I think you will remember it, on that day you broke with your knee the back light of the blue Vespa and we never absolutely imagined to ask you a refund for 50.00 euros (the price of the Vespa Piaggio original piece that we paied to buy it) for the damage. This is because we know the value of hospitality, kindness and friendship with those who do not know your land. We are sorry that we were not appreciated in this, but, on the contrary, to have been publicly accused us of deceiving you. We all work with the greatest commitment every hour of the day all year round to satisfy our customers and take care of all the details of their day in Naples.
