Looking for the best tour guide to Sintra?…I GOTTA Guy and his name is Jose! What a day we had.. A lot of Fun, Laughs, interesting facts and places to see. Jose’s goal is to make you happy.. mission accomplished. We had the best day of our entire Portugal trip sightseeing and learning about different towns in the area. The scenery was spectacular, the wine tasting was wonderful and the seaside lunch divine. I highly recommend you look no further and treat yourself to this private tour. Jane and Rob
A full day of seeing the sites of Sintra and the southeast coast of Portugal. Our guide was wonderful and the experience was great. Encountered several large tour groups and was very pleased to be in a private tour after seeing that. Easily worth the cost.
Jose was the absolute best! Not only did we get to see some of the usual great locations and sites on our journey, he provided us with several very unique experiences that you will not find with any of the other guides (I would tell you but he has sworn us to secrecy!). He also did a wonderful job on leading us to areas where we could journey and explore on our own. Our experience with Jose was fantastic and we so enjoyed learning about the rich and historic culture of Portugal from Jose!
I have traveled to over thirty countries, and this was beyond doubt the best guided tour I have ever experienced. Yes, we saw Regaleira palace, and yes, we went wine-tasting, but that was the *least* of what we did. Traveling with Jose Ribiero is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We learned the history of Portugal, not just as dates when buildings were made, but through stories passed down across generations. From a 19-year-old prince who built a palace that blended the world's cultures, to 200-year-old grape vines that survived the phylloxera attack that destroyed the rest of Europe, we experienced several hundred years of history in a single day. And that wasn't all: we saw secrets of Sintra only the locals know, talked about everything from Voltaire to Nelson Mandela (Jose is a phenomenal conversationalist), and ended up returning at the end of the day lighter and wiser. 5 stars aren't enough.
Great day out with Jose, who knows a lot about all sorts of things including wine, houses, history and culture, from the background of growing up outside Portugal
The Regaleira Palace was amazing. We had plenty of time to walk around and enjoy. Also, the wine tasting was nice. Our driver was very accommodating and entertaining.
I don’t even know where to start. The day we had with our driver - our new friend - José, was an unforgettable experience. The morning started off with a burst of energy (mostly his, as we had all been out the night before…!), and as the day progressed, we became immersed in the beautiful, relaxed, generous culture of Portugal. It did not feel like a driver taking some tourists around. We were truly going through a transformative experience. I will never forget the day we had: from the meandering roads, the indulgent tastings, the expansive beaches, the fresh seafood lunch, the intimate wine tasting, and of course, the colorful stories and rich history shared by José along the way. The day we had was the perfect cherry on top of an unbelievable trip. José… thank you. 🙏🏻
Jose was INCREDIBLE! If you want to explore Lisbon and not act like a tourist, choose his experiences!! Jose has genuine relationships with many local businesses, thus making the day so special.
We had a great time on our tour. Our guide, Jose Ribeiro, was full of energy, had amazing stories and made the entire day so much fun!
Jose is a gregarious and entertaining guide. He can tailor your trip how you like and provide interesting anecdotes! Communication through WhatsApp was easy and travel was efficient and comfortable.
