SCAM. Do not book this. No one showed up and the number associated with the tour operator is not in service. I am yet to receive a refund on the $649 that was immediately charged on booking,
We sincerely apologize for your experience and completely understand your frustration. After investigating this situation, we confirmed that we never received the booking confirmation from Viator for your reservation. We thoroughly searched our systems and email records, and unfortunately no booking notification was ever delivered to us. Because of this, we had no knowledge of your reservation and were unable to operate the tour as scheduled. We would also like to clarify that the phone number listed on our bookings is accurate and active. We did not receive any phone calls or messages from you on the day of the tour. This is the first time we have encountered an issue like this, and we have already contacted Viator to understand how this happened. While they were unable to explain the cause, we have flagged the issue with them. Please know this is absolutely not representative of how we operate our business or care for our guests. Had we received your booking confirmation, your tour would have gone ahead as planned. A full refund has been issued, and again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this caused.
Excellent excursion! They even let me know the type/color and license plate of the vehicle that would pick me up, leaving little concern on my end. Joaquin was an amazing guide and even let me know when they were 10min away from picking me up. I would absolutely go on another tour with him. The ride had some hills which allowed for some excitement, as opposed to a flat open road.
Hi Priscilla, Im very happy you enjoyed the day, and will definitely pass on your comments to Joaquin!
MAKE SURE YOU CONTACT THE LOCAL GUIDE!!! I was looking forward to a sunset ride and a BBQ. Thank goodness I contacted the local number to inquire about my pickup driver and vehicle. She didn't know anything about my 4 pm reservation and asked if I could ride the next morning at 10 am. Well...I paid, so I felt as if I had no choice. RIDE: The two guides were great. The horses were fine. The tour was basic but pleasant. The food was a disappointment although our 'chef' was nice. Nothing was typical Chilean cuisine, especially the Club crackers served with the ham and cheese. Avocados are a major produce in Chile, but none were served. The salmon was minimal. A Chilean beef empanada would've been nice. Here are some future suggestions: https://www.chefspencil.com/25-most-popular-dishes-in-chile-with-photos/
Hi Juliette, Thank you for your feedback. We will look into the picnic and make sure to re-evaluate what goes in. You mentioned you were expecting a BBQ, but that option is only available as an add-on for a booking group of 4+ people, and this was not the case, so maybe there was a misunderstanding of our listing on that issue. As for the change of date, your booking came through late Saturday evening for the Sunday afternoon. Normally we don't have any problems accommodating last-minute bookings, but this was a special case, as the ranch staff were all attending an event in a rural area with spotty cell reception, and they didn't let us know they would be closing that day beforehand. Because of this I couldn't confirm our tour. Please know that I spent most of the morning chasing up the people to try and accommodate your ride on the day you requested. However, sometimes unexpected things do happen, and I very much appreciate your flexibility in changing tour dates.
This horseback riding tour was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Cristóbal was an exceptional guide and a genuinely warm, personable host - knowledgeable not only about riding through the Andes but also deeply insightful when it came to Chilean history and culture. I truly enjoyed learning from him along the way, and his passion made the entire journey feel meaningful and immersive, not just scenic. The lunch prepared by the local huasos was absolutely incredible - so fresh, flavorful, and full of charm. It added a special, authentic touch that elevated the whole experience. Communication beforehand and the pickup process were seamless and stress-free, making everything easy from the start. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone staying in Santiago - it’s a must-do.
Hi Zachary, thanks for this review! I'll forward it to Cristobal and everyone else at the ranch, they'll be really happy to hear back from you!
A wonderful ride through very peaceful and scenic terrain on well disciplined and energetic horses. Therese is charming and well versed in the history, flora and fauna of the area.
Hi Brian, thanks for the review! Therese will love to hear you loved her ranch and that you enjoyed learning about the local wildife. Hope you get to come back soon!
This was a truly unique experience! Will had a plethora of knowledge about the history of Chile. He was capable, attentive, and well-versed. He offered wonderful suggestions on shopping, activities, and food in Santiago. The ride was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! This is a wonderful way to see Chile and Santiago from a new perspective! Will's confidence and care in his work were evident, making our party feel at ease. If you have the opportunity to take part in this experience, we highly recommend it! Thank you so much!
HI Brittany, thanks so much for this review! Will really enjoyed himself with your group as well, and had really nice things to say about you, too! We are very happy you enjoyed the experience and would love to have you back soon!
A magnificent horseback riding experience through the hills of the Andes. Gustavo, our private Waso (Chilean cowboy!) guide pointed out all of the flora and fauna along a beautiful path overlooking Santiago. His concern for our safety was a priority and the horses, just lovely. We ended our journey with a delicious barbecue lunch.
Hi Carrie, We are really happy you enjoyed the experience! We'll let Gustavo know, he'll love your comments. Thanks!!
We went on the sunset horseback ride. It was a wonderful private guided tour. The view was spectacular and very worth it by sunset hour. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. They were also able to pick us up and drop us off at our residence. It was a very informative tour - we got to see some rare birds and a good amount of fauna. We spent about 3 hours horseback riding on the trail and the horses were amazing and very adorable. It was well worth the price.
Thanks Laveen, We're happy you enjoyed your afternoon. And yes, those horses are definitely sweethearts!
As this is my first time visiting Santiago, I am more enthralled by the magnificent mountains that frame the city, so horseback riding on the Andes was a no-brainer. The ride took us through easy trails that gave us magnificent views of the city, and the timing of the ride (at sunset) was brilliant in terms of the light and the weather conditions. Grateful that Chile Off Track was able to squeeze me into a group as a sole traveler at short notice. Communication and logistics were excellent. Will was an excellent guide whose love of the land and country was evident. We were accompanied front and back (by another rancher), while hospitality was provided by Will's wife and sister in law. The wine and cheese picnic and light hearted conversation at the end was icing on the cake.
Thanks Linda! We'll pass on your review to Will and Mirta, they will love to hear that you enjoyed the afternoon. And thanks for leaving a review, we really appreciate it!!
Our guide, Gustavo, led us around open trails and showed us how to ride in a slow paced and casual environment. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the day.
Thanks Michele! We try and make rides available for experienced riders as well as people with no horseback riding experience, so this is great feedback!
