Mixed feelings on this one, so I’ll try to be fair On the positive side, Mohammed was friendly, funny, and easy to spend a day with. He covered a lot of ground, went a full hour past our scheduled end time without complaint, and was completely reliable on logistics - confirmed pickup the night before, showed up promptly at our riad the next morning. He was also genuinely comfortable and open discussing other cultures and religions, which we appreciated given some of the topics we got into On the other hand, a few things left a worse taste. The taxi cost at the end of the tour - 300 dirhams - was sprung on us at the last second. The booking terms did mention that transport wasn’t included, but the actual price should have been communicated well before we were standing at the door being asked to pay it. He also steered us into shops where prices were roughly four times what a fair price should be - a common tour guide practice, and we understand the commission incentive behind it, but it still feels sleazy in the moment. Beyond that, he wasn’t always intellectually honest - there were a few claims he made that were flatly incorrect, and other topics where he put a noticeably rosy spin on more complicated history Good company for a day, but take what he tells you with a grain of salt, and clarify all costs upfront rather than at the end
Dear Tiam , thanks a lot for your feedback. The old city of Fes is known for the artisanal shops, the latter are considered a part of the experience. When it comes to prices and haggling, as a tour guide I have no control over that since the shops are separate businesses. Regarding transport, it is already mentioned in the tour description that it is not provided by the tour guide.
Mohammed Abdoul Soussi was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, good sense of humor, easy to maneuver through the Medina and Fes with. We appreciated his charm, patience, time and flexibility… he is easy to be with…. No rush and no pressure. Highly recommend you ask for him.
A great tour suitable for children and adults, a very friendly guide who knows their subject perfectly. Thank you for this beautiful experience, I highly recommend it!
Mr Mohamed's guide was thought-provoking, friendly and awesome! I also found a great leather jacket. Thank you very much.
Great tour by Mohamed Abdoul. He is very knowledgeable and is good company. He showed us a lot of the city. We only had one full day in Fes; we feel we got to see a lot of what the city has to offer with his tours. We also did a food tour which we highly recommend. Tasted great local food.
Complete and interesting tour. Abdul is nice and even modifies the route based on your interests
Very interesting guided tour, very knowledgeable and friendly guide who is willing to let you visit and/or buy what you are interested in Highly recommended
Wonderful tour with many highlights and good shopping opportunities. Must be a strong walker though to keep up. Mohamed was a friendly, knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the tour very much. It will be long, so I wouldn’t recommend planning anything else that day or you’ll be very rushed.
Mohamed Abdoul was a great tour guide. His experience and knowledge of Fes was fantastic. One thing to note, going from the medina to some other areas requires a taxi, so be prepared to pay for the extra transport. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and were amazed by the medina and all its history.
We had an excellent tour with Mohamed Abdul. He went beyond our expectations with information about the history of the Medina in Fes and other areas. He told us everywhere you would want to go. I highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed.
