Ponte da Misarela is a famous bridge located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park in northern Portugal. It is a picturesque stone bridge that spans the Rabagão River. Peneda-Gerês National Park is the only national park in Portugal and is located in the northwest part of the country, in the Minho region. It was established in 1971 and covers an area of approximately 702 square kilometers. The park is characterized by its stunning natural landscapes, including mountains, valleys, rivers, and forests. It is known for its rich biodiversity, being home to numerous species of flora and fauna, some of which are endemic to the region. The diverse ecosystems found in the park range from oak and pine forests to high-altitude moorlands. Visitor will experience some hiking trails , including an ancient roman road and beautiful landscapes such as waterfalls, lakes and valleys. Also, visitor will have around an hour to have lunch at Gerês Village at a traditional restaurant (not included)
Albufeira da Caniçada offers a range of recreational activities for visitors to enjoy. The clear and calm waters of the reservoir are ideal for swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Boating is also a popular activity, and there are boat rental services available for those who wish to explore the lake at their own pace.

Good activity to spend a day on the road with guide Juan, also stopping at several locations, so that walks - mainly together with Juan - take place. Juan introduces you to special elements in the National Park, where he can also tell you about the flora and fauna in the area. Communication runs smoothly and Juan takes the time to let you experience the National Park. Definitely recommended!
We booked this tour because we had limited time in the region and wanted to see the best sights. Juan was the perfect guide, taking us to the best spots, avoiding the crowded areas and giving times during the day for us to explore alone to enjoy the countryside and / enjoy a paddle in the water. Conversation with Juan was very natural, and he has great knowledge of the local area. We were very happy with the day, getting a good understanding of the region and seeing the best sights, without wasting time driving around looking for "Google features" that may or may not be what we hoped for.
Great visit with Juan, who introduced us to this beautiful Geres park with historical, cultural, and animal anecdotes… the best.
