While Sage was a very nice guy, the trip did not provide what it said it would. It was an huge waste of money and we did not get what was advertised in the description. Our tickets to sights were not included-description says they are, and we had no local guide, which it said we would. We were dropped off in each town and told to “walk around”. No directions or suggestions on what to see. We had to hurry and google sights and directions and find our own way. If we had wanted to do that we would have just taken the train on our own, not paid for a private trip. I point blank asked him what we should see and he said just walk around!!! I would not recommend this to anyone. We took two other similar aviator trips this week but small group on other days and they provided the service expected, a guide and information on what to see. In comparison this one was not only a dud but ridiculously expensive for basically a driver and nothing else. The towns were cute, Utrecht and Oudewater are worth visiting, especially the witch weighing station. Gouda is currently not worth visiting. The city hall which is the highlight is undergoing a major renovation and totally enclosed in scaffolding, so nothing to see for a few years. We did reach out to the tour operator and request a partial refund and refund for our tickets that were to be included but have received no response. Viator is of no help in resolving this. Very disappointed and will be sure to never use them again.
This day trip was a really nice way to see a few different sides of the Netherlands. Each stop was unique and the mix kept the day interesting. Our guide was friendly and shared lots of local stories and facts along the way. Everything was well organized and went smoothly. Definitely a great option if you want to explore beyond Amsterdam in one day.
