Great tour. We heard a lot about the big walk up to the Castle. It was not bad at all. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and he showed us some cool church paintings that are normally closed off. Great tour.

This was a fascinating tour which made sense of the layout and history of Berat. Our guide Samir was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient with our lack of fruit knowledge! He gave us a great insight into the history and culture of Berat and Albania generally, all done with a twinkle in the eye and a lovely sense of humour. We did the 5pm tour which we highly recommend in the hotter months. The climb to the castle is slow but steady and manageable for most people, we’re fit 60+ and had no problems. It’s worth the climb for the amazing panoramic views and to appreciate what life in the castle confines would be like. Thanks Samir for a memorable experience and best of luck for the future.
