Itinerary

Admission included120 min

The best of Madrid’s artistic masterpieces awaits on a comprehensive tour of the Prado Museum. Meet your guide at the statue of Francisco Goya just outside and skip the line into Spain’s national art museum, home to over 7,000 pieces. With an expert in art history on hand, you’ll be guided to the crème de la crème of the masterpieces on display. Take in the breathtaking detail of works by Goya, Velazquez, and more, and discover the stories behind each careful brushstroke. Enjoy free time at the end of your museum tour to browse the gift shop or purchase a snack. (if option selected)

40 min

Next, discover another aspect of Madrid’s history on a stroll through the charming Literary Quarter, where many of Spain’s literary geniuses have trodden these very paths.

Pass by

You'll also stop in the lively Plaza Mayor and hear stories from your guide about how Spain's history was shaped here.

Pass by

The Tapas & History with Botín tour option starts here with a glass of vermouth, the house tapas, and some Manchego cheese. While enjoying this traditional Spanish aperitif, you'll learn about its history on the ground floor of what was once the home of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quijote lived. (if option selected)

Pass by

Family-owned and historic Casa del Abuelo. We will go to and try gambas al ajillo, one of Spain’s most beloved dishes. We will discover how this dish actually came from poverty though now celebrated. We will drink Grandpa’s house wine, made at the family vineyards. (if option selected)

110 min

Next, it’s time for a veritable Spanish feast! Step past the long lines forming outside before the restaurant even opens its doors. Your guide will show you the cave beneath the restaurant, which was part of a tunnel system that once spread underneath Madrid, and take you behind the scenes of the historic kitchen where 300-year-old ovens make time-perfected recipes. Finally, sit down for a three-course meal and feast on specialties such as Botín’s signature roast suckling pig. (last stop for both options)

Great time ahead with our outstanding guide Arantxa and 6 other fellow travelers!

Our experience was delightful and our guide Arantxa very knowledgeable and yet fun at the same time. The only negative feedback is we did not have enough time to enjoy our lunch at Bodin. We sat down at approximately 12 noon and were required requested to leave by a little after 1 PM. Not nearly enough time to enjoy the cycling, pig, red wine, not dimension, dessert, and coffee. Still a wonderful experience.

Prada Museum with Lunch at Botin

Arantxa, my Tour Guide, was Fantastic. Her knowledge, passion for what she does, and her ability to teach were outstanding. I really appreciated her sharing information beyond the surface on the many paintings, and teaching me Spanish Table Etiquette during lunch. Thank you Arantxa!

Perfect balance of culture and cuisine

Cassie was a very engaging and knowledgable guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Prado Museum and Cassie’s knowledge of the works there was exceptional without being stuffy. The tour of Botin was fascinating and the lunch that followed was excellent. Would highly recommend.

The best experience

I had an awesome experience with Cassie. She was extremely thorough, well-educated, and engaging. I cannot recommend her enough. She made everyone feel like a native in Spain. The food at Botin was incredible and the tour at Prado was informative. Definitely check her out!

Combines spirit and culinary delights in an atmospheric and enjoyable way

A very informative tour that first enlivens the mind in the Prado Museum, thanks also to the highly competent guide, and then also has culinary delights to offer in the oldest restaurant in the world. A complete success and therefore absolutely recommended.
