A pleasant and family‑friendly experience, though not the classic, adult‑focused wine tasting we anticipated. The pesto‑making was a highlight — engaging and generously portioned. The wine selection was limited, with two whites and a cava, and the atmosphere felt less authentic due to the alt rock. The class was charming but not the classic Italian wine‑tasting experience we anticipated.
Wonderful pesto making class! So much fun and our host was fantastic! Lots of great food and wine! Would definitely reccommend to anyone looking for a fun and informative activity!
We loved this so much! Highly recommend. The wine was delicious and even the non-pesto eaters in our group LOVED it and ate every morsel.
We actually ended up booking this pesto class at the last minute after the vineyard pesto class we had originally planned was unexpectedly cancelled, and I’m so glad we did because this turned out to be one of our favorite experiences! The class was such a nice pace — relaxed, fun, and informative without ever feeling rushed. Our instructor was wonderful and, being local to the region where pesto originated, made the experience feel especially authentic. The pesto we made was genuinely some of the best we had during our entire trip, and getting to sit down afterward and enjoy it right there with some lovely wine pairings made it even better. As an added bonus, our instructor’s name was Luca, which we thought was so fun considering we were in the Ligurian towns that inspired the setting of Luca. It was such a cute little coincidence that made the experience even more memorable. Our train was delayed, so we arrived a little later than planned, but our instructor was incredibly understanding and welcoming, and it didn’t negatively impact our experience at all. The location is also extremely easy to get to from the train station, which makes this a great activity if you’re visiting the area by train. What started as a last-minute backup plan ended up being an amazing experience that we would absolutely recommend. Great pesto, great wine, a wonderful instructor, and such a fun way to experience a piece of Ligurian culture!
This was a fantastic experience. The guide was excellent and gave great explanations. The pesto was so good and the wines were incredibly good. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy, and we highly recommend it. We will go back the next time we visit Vernazza.
Thank you very much guys!!!
Cozy experience, where we learned how to make pesto the way Grandma had made it.
It was a fantastic experience!! A highlight of our time in Cinque Terre! We had a 12 and 14yo with us who really enjoyed the hands on experience of learning how to make authentic Italian pesto. Highly recommend.
This was a very well done class. Our teacher was amazing! Loved her stories and how she intertwined the town that they live in. I also love that she spoke different languages and was very attentive. We were all surprised how good our pesto was!
Fomoa in family and we all loved the experience. We love the pesto sauce, the explanation and the wines. I recommend.
We would do it again. It is recommended not to arrive by private car, but by train or by boat, as the only road to Vernazza is very narrow and winding.
