Her love for the area was easily seen in her excitement of sharing the region’s history. She was also very enlightening in the growth of the local area and her region making the family more interested in the history of Portugal. This tour captures the interests of many: nature lovers, selfie maniacs, those in search of beautiful views, fortress maneuvering, people looking for physical challenges, and most of all those interested in the region’s history. We have taken tours in many major European cities and this tour ranks as our family’s #1 tour! Finishing the tour, was bitter sweet, it felt like we were saying good bye to a great friend! I highly recommend this tour, and to take advantage of the local pick up. You will have a great time!
A wonderful guided hike in Sintra! Alexandra showed us the Historical Center and National Palace. We explored the beautiful Moorish Fortress Hiking trail that we would not have found on our own. We visited Moorish Fortress and Pena Palace and could avoid the long queues as Alexandra was showing us all the beautiful places beneath the mass tourism. Finally we got to see the glorious Quinta da Regaleira. Alexandra provided us with a lot of interesting facts and history. When some of our group members didn't manage the hike anymore she kindly arranged a Tuk Tuk for them so everyone could enjoy the tour. If you want to see the beautiful places of sintra like a local and avoid the masses go with Alexandra. It's a great experience!
