Itinerary
Begin with a short trek along the gorgeous coastline, and see some of the natural features and what lies underneath the ocean surface. Enter one of Victoria’s oldest and friendliest neighborhoods—James Bay. You will see some of loveliest homes and gardens in town. Many of the homes were hand built and conform to the city’s heritage status bylaws by keeping the original character and colors of the 19th century. As you roll through the community, a stop can be made at the oldest local grocer in town and supplier of arguably the best coffee and tea in town.
Stop at the Emily Carr House and find out more about one of Victoria's more famous (infamous) artists. If desired, guests can tour the museum, admission is by donation.
Travel on bicycle paths and quiet lanes as you meander through Beacon Hill Park—the city’s green jewel. It features many gardens and flowering shrubs and trees including the Sun Dial Garden where more wedding photos are shot in town than anywhere else. The peacocks will respond to the Pavlovian ring of the bicycle bell and will greet you in exchange for some organic barley seeds. Ask your guide to point out the Bald Eagle’s nest and take advantage of a photo op when you cross the medieval stone bridge.
Leave the bliss of the park and enter into the spectacular inner harbour which includes the Legislative Buildings and the famous Empress Hotel. Then, head to the historic downtown core. The city comes alive when ships are in town and very often there will be street performers at every block. Pass by many shops that are preserved in their original Victorian character and very wide sidewalks allow opportunities to stop, take pictures or even venture in for a closer look. In a few blocks, the crowds will thin and you will experience the heart of Old Town. This is some of downtown Victoria’s best locations and yet most visitors do not venture this far to experience it.
Pass through the Gates of Harmonious Interest and explore Canada's oldest Chinatown. Take a peek down Fan Tan Alley, the narrowest street in Canada, and time permitting grab a snack or souvenir from one of the local shops.

We actually set up a personal tour for the sole reason to go Geocaching! Alan hooked us up with Adrian and he was fantastic! We were planning a pedicab tour anyway so we just combined both! We saw and heard about the city, the history, the architecture and grabbed a lot of geocaches on our list! Adrian even helped us go to a few we didn’t have on our list! Great customer service and communications with Victoria Pedicab and our guide Adrian!
John MacCormack was the best pedicab guide! His knowledge of Victoria was amazing. He was very personable and accommodating. He knew the ins and outs of how to get around also. I highly recommend him!
Jack is the best tour guide we had in this whole trip, super friendly and knowledgable. Ive visited victoria a few times before but this time was the best! This is the tour to get to know the city and jack is the tour guide to take you!
We saw more of Victoria in 3 hours than we could have seen in a day on our own. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We went where vehicles can't go with Alan happily narrating and answering questions. Alan told us to let him know if we wanted to stop to see or do something. We headed out with a blanket on our laps, cover overhead and umbrellas on board in case it rained... prepared for anything. He also strapped my mom's walker on the back and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the ride. We learned so much!
This was an exceptional way to tour Victoria on a late stop from the cruise boat. We had missed booking an excursion and we are so glad that happened! Soren gave us a personal tour of the sites, we even enjoyed the Beacon Hill gardens in the dark. The city is beautifully lit. He gave us the history of the city, architecture, people, with personal touches of humor, playing an indigenous flute, and being our personal photographer! We saw more of Victoria than we could have on foot and it was more personal than a tour with 20 people! Every pedicab driver we passed assured us we were with the best driver and we all agree! This tour included 2 couples with a tandem pedicab.
Our guide was Johnny Brenneman … rock star company for a relaxing and entertaining tour. Johnny makes the tour an experience that you will enjoy and remember. Best value of entire vacation … catch him quick, as his talents have been summoned to Iceland.
Julie was an amazing tour guide. Of all of our activities on our 10 day cruise, this experience was the highlight of our trip. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about Victoria’s history. She used our iPhone and took a lot of fantastic photos of some magnificent places. If us or any of our friends visit again, we will strongly recommend Julie!
Paige was super nice and went above and beyond to show us all the cool spots and history of Victoria!
This was our 3rd Victoria trip and we learned so much than we had ever heard before with Jack. So friendly, approachable and extremely knowledgeable! Stopped to put up the top when it rained and made sure we had blankets! He is an excellent guide!
Julie was truly exceptional. From the moment we began our tour, her warm and inviting demeanor made us feel welcomed and well-cared for. She shared a wealth of fascinating knowledge about the sights we visited, captivating both adults and children alike. I wholeheartedly recommend taking a tour with her; her enthusiasm for her work is infectious. Plus, she effortlessly engaged with our young kids, making the experience enjoyable for the whole family.
