Pacoche Hiking Tour

Don’t usually leave a review on executions but needed to take the time to write this. This tour is amazing and well worth them money. We couldn’t believe how much we did during the day and just how fun it was. We came from the cruise ship and our guide was waiting for us with a sign with my name it, nice and easy. He then got us in the car and took us to the Pacoche rainforest where we met a local that lived in there. We took a private path in the rainforest away from the busy tourist areas. Our guide translated everything to English and it was so interesting listening to what was being said while learning about he area. We saw the howler monkeys and watched them for a bit, definitely a highlight. We ate fresh fruit, went to a authentic hat making shop (they were not pushing to buy/ a tourist trap), got lunch (delicious and cheap), saw beaches and went to a authentic chocolate making shop with an small, authentic chocolate making factory (again not a tourist trap). Our guide, Antoni, was amazing he was informative, answered all questions and was a genuine fun guy. The driver, Ronald didn’t speak any English but still Antoni was translating even tho he wasn’t talking to us which is a nice touch. Honestly a great experience and would recommend. A must do experience.

A strenuous hike in the rainforest. Very muddy but rubber boots were provided. Really got to see lots of the forest and really enjoyed seeing how our guide lives. He grows everything he needs in a sustainable way to protect the forest. Was well worth the effort and the mud!

We had a great trip with Juan. He was very knowledgeable and informative. We went to the fish market, the Pacoche Reserve, the Panama hat demonstration, a hilltop view and lunch. Juan asked us what our group wanted to see and he added this into the trip. Awesome experience. Enjoyed our day.

Very informative and accommodating tour. So much to see. The tour guide shared the medicinal use of many native plants.

We had a private tour with our guide Juan. Our tour started in the Pacoche forest. The park guide was amazing. Juan was an expert translator. His knowledge of this area was excellent. After this we drove up to Montecristi and were treated to a one on one Panama hat making demo at a family owned store. This was a wonderful experience. We the asked our guide Juan to take us somewhere cool for lunch. We ended up on a surf beach south of Manta and had a truly epic lunch. Really great view. And as if this was not enough we ended our day in family owned chocolate factory. Yummy.

We really enjoyed this tour. Lots to see from a tiny frog to a terantua. Panàma hat making and a delicious chocolate shop that serves very good coffee & cake. Our guide gives up.as much time as we needed and got us back to the ship in plenty of time.
