Daniel was a really great guide! The drive is beautiful but windy so be careful if you get car sickness. There are water parks and animals to see, but apart from the museum set up in part of his old house, there’s not much left from the Escobar era. At least not in ways we were hoping for, but we enjoyed the experience and would recommend.

Daniel was a good guide and had excellent english. Shame the place has turned into more of a theme park then a look into the past of Pablo Escobar!

What a great day trip from Medellin! The park itself is fairly standard fair for a zoo, but it also includes a very large water park and entertainment areas (rides, etc). But what made this a great trip was learning the history of the park, Pablo Escobar, the region, (and more!) from our guide, Daniel. In addition to being a wealth of knowledge, he was also extremely friendly and accommodating. For those worried about animals that are locked up - most of the animals there are rescues from previous zoos, circus', etc. Also, the size of the wild iguanas roaming about make me believe in dragons! lol ***Note, it is a bit warmer up there than in Medellin, so be prepared!

Our guide Daniel, was quick to remedy initial issues with language correspondence. He was very knowledgeable and happy to take the time to explain all. His pleasant friendly demeanour added to a very enjoyable day. We experienced all we aimed due to the professional, friendly approach by Daniel.

Ivan Builes was our guide and he was amazing. He was friendly and had a nice vehicle which is important since it’s a 3 hour drive each way from Medellin. The Hacienda is not worth the trip its self right now. It’s under a bunch of construction. In about a year the place will be amazing. They are building roller coasters and other attractions. We did not do the water park.

greetings, I made the trip to Hacienda Napoles starting from Cali, a fairly extensive journey, in which I passed through Armenia, Calarca, La Línea, Ibague Armero, Honda, Mariquita, Dorada, Doral. The town where the Hacienda Napoles is located is too full of commerce, restaurants, the Medellin-Bogota road runs through it, so it is normal for it to have a lot of traffic, especially on weekends. In my experience, it is recommended to be at Hacienda Napoles at 08:00 am because the route is very long, inside the park the drinks are somewhat expensive, and it is necessary to be very hydrated, buy a Styrofoam cooler and fill it with ice and transport it there. drinks

Fantastic trip with David. We also did two day Escobar + Guatapé tour with him, and he went out of his way to have us prepared for what to expect on each day… Especially important for the Hacienda Nápoles trip, where he told us in advance what to expect, like knowing how little of Escobar remains at the Hacienda Nápoles to not be disappointed if you’re expecting to see the house etc, and to be prepared for the heat! He shared a ton of knowledge throughout the tours, and was especially good with explaining everything both in English and Spanish since my Spanish isn’t perfect and my girlfriend’s English is the same. He’s great with customizing the tour on the fly , from making sure you see what you’re most interested in to finding food that fits your taste. Great tour, well worth the added cost of the private tour.
