Walk through Jan-Jan Yokocho alley& Enjoy Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) With the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower watching over the town, Shinsekai offers a perfect mix of history and local culture. Enjoy crispy Kushi-katsu right in the heart of the neighborhood before making your way to Dotonbori, where the flavors and energy of Osaka truly come alive! 6 pieces of Kushikatsu: Kushikatsu is a Japanese dish of deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables. (For vegetarian course, pork broth is still used in Kushikatsu) ※Vegan and gluten-free are not available.
Exploring the Shinsekai Area (Shinsekai Market → Tsutenkaku Tower → Billiken Statue) The "museum-like" alley offers a virtual experience of Osaka's center as it existed over 80 years ago. It's astonishing how much history you can uncover in this narrow alley, spanning just 1.2 meters in width. Our Local Foodie and Walking Tour in Dotonbori and Shinsekai was fantastic. Our guide Mich was brilliant. We were very lucky to be the only two guests on this tour so we got her undivided attention. It gets very busy in the evenings so you need to stay close to her when following through the crowded streets and pay attention! There was more food than what we could eat and we also were allowed 3 drinks, (alcoholic or non alcoholic). Her commentary was very informative and interesting and we learnt a bit more about the Japanese history and culture, particularly around the food scene. We would highly recommend this evening tour.

Fantastic tour with a very friendly guide
We did this tour last night with Mich. we were extremely lucky that there was only the 2 of us on the tour so it was very personalised. It was a very, very hot summer night and there is a lot of walking but we managed to keep up. The information Mich provided on the history and food culture was very interesting. Mich is well travelled and appreciates other cultures and nationalities. The places we visited were really alive with so many people. The restaurants she took us to were excellent and the food was plentiful and of high quality. We also saw lots of other highlights that you see in promotional videos on Osaka. There is a subway train section you need to go on but you can tap on and tap off either credit card or transport card if you have one. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend this company and Tour Guide Mich.
