We went as a family of five, kids aged 11, 14 and 17. We contacted the place directly and received an immediate reply. We went in the morning and cocked for lunch. We made different types of pasta including a lasagna. It was a lot of fun, very competently organized and we all learned a lot even though we had done a pasta cooking course before. The kids loved it too. The food we cooked we ate all together in the very pleasant setting of the farm. We had already visited the olive mill before so we let the other guest do that on their own. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time at Il Fontanaro Slow Cooking School with Alina Pinelli. Together with our family and friends, we enjoyed a fun and relaxed day making fresh pasta, delicious meat sauce and a lovely dessert. Alina was a warm and welcoming host and a great guide throughout the cooking. The beautiful surroundings and lovely atmosphere made the experience even more special. A truly memorable Italian experience that we would highly recommend!
What a fabulous experience! We learned about so many fun pasta techniques, layering flavors and the health benefits of a good quality olive oil. The olive oil this family produces is incredible too!!! We shared the class with one family with 3 delightful children and Alina did such a good job giving the kids things to make on their own. I can’t recommend this enough—great memories!!!
We had such an incredible day with Alina, from start to finish it was more than we had hoped for. The whole experience was seamless and felt very personal. We can highly recommend this to others. She was also able to cater for a gluten free diet which was very helpful. It was a nice to also take some food home. Thank you Alina for a lovely day.
Thank you for your kind words! It was a pleasure welcoming you to our organic olive and wine farm. I’m so happy you enjoyed the experience and that we could accommodate your gluten-free diet. I hope you’ll recreate the recipes at home and come back to cook with us again. Safe travels, and thank you for choosing Slow Cooking School! 🍝🌿 Ali ❤️
This was a highlight of our Italy trip!!! We absolutely loved Alina and her expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed learning to cook authentic Italian food. This meal was the most delicious food we had in our 11 day trip around Rome, Umbria & Cinque Terre! I would definitely recommend this cooking class!
I have had many cooking experiences but this has been by far my favorite. To start with, the space is dreamy! The farm and their home are just beautiful. A very calming and welcoming space. Alina was so kind to my kids ( 7 and 4) and helped providing toys and things for them when they couldn’t stay engaged in the class. We also loved the folks who attended the class. Lunch was fun and delicious ( the very food we cooked!). Do this! Totally worth it
Thank you for such a lovely review! It was a joy to host your family. We love creating experiences where everyone—from little chefs to grown-ups—feels at home. Hope to cook together again soon! 🍝🌿 Ali pinelli
This cooling class with Alina really was a highlight for us. She is a beautiful hostess and we learned so much from her. She taught us how to appreciate olive oil and the intricacies of cooking with it. We had a beautiful meal and a wonderful visit with her. I would highly recommend this.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. It means a great deal to know that our day together became one of the highlights of your trip to Italy. Sharing our family’s olive farm, our passion for extra virgin olive oil, and the traditions behind our recipes is exactly why we created this experience. Every guest brings something special to the table, and it was a real pleasure cooking with you. We hope that every time you drizzle olive oil over a dish or make fresh pasta at home, you’ll remember this day in Umbria. Our kitchen door is always open whenever your travels bring you back to Italy. Until then, happy cooking and arrivederci! 🇮🇹🌿 Ali
First of all driving there the scenery was spectacular. Alina was so wonderful and kind. Her place is amazing and the views from there were awesome. The cooking class was great, there were four couples and one couple were our best friends which whom we were traveling with. The class was so much fun and making homemade pasta was easy. Alina was a great host and teacher. We made four different pasta dishes and tiramisu for dessert. We did fresh spaghetti, tagliatelle , and ravioli and she had homemade pasta sheets for the Lasanga and we all helped make the bechumel sauce. Was fantastic. Then we all sat down outside and enjoyed our food and then she took us too see her olive trees and how they make there olive oil which is so good. And she ships to the US. Really the best. You will love everything.

I’m so happy you enjoyed making fresh pasta by hand, preparing tiramisu together, and discovering our extra virgin olive oil during the farm tour. Sharing our family’s traditions and the beauty of Umbria with guests like you is exactly why we love doing what we do. We hope the recipes will remind you of your time in Italy, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back for another cooking experience whenever your travels bring you to Tuscany and Umbria again. Thank you again for your kind words and for choosing Slow Cooking School! Ali ⭐️
This experience was wonderful. The setting could not have been more picturesque among the flowers, charming buildings, and rolling countryside. We learned so much while making the pasta, accompanying sauces from scratch. Not to mention the tiramisu! And then we ate the incredible food, and Alina even made packets of leftovers for us! Sadly, we couldn’t stay forever!

This was one of my favorite experiences in Italy, we learned about slow cooking and organic farming. We learned how to make several types of pasta from spaghetti to lasagna to ravioli. The tiramisu was delicious and it all felt so approachable to cook and we learned a lot from the host!
